So I was wondering how having a doodle has changed your shopping habits?
I know that when I bought my car I picked it partly....ok mostly....so that Saka would have enough room in the back! LOL Just recently I had to purchase a new living room set for him. Not because he destroyed the old one. Because Saka is such a VERY good boy in that department! Will only tear up what we give him to play with. However ever since he was a lil pup Ive loved to cuddle with him...usually in my favorite chair. Well now that he is 15 months old....as you can see things are a little snug! This is a picture of him on my 11 year old daughter. Now imagine him on top of me....an extra 3 inches and 120lbs....usually with a laptop balanced on one arm! So I broke down and got this amazing Tundra set! Huge over sized chair and the couch looks like 2 of the chairs put together with arm rests/cup holders in between! LMAO Looks almost exactly like this: ![]() So what have YOU bought differently or with your doodle in mind?

My boss just bought a Saturn Vue - first time I saw the back area, I fell in love, I told her her back area could fit both my dogs! What an amazing car! LOL.
Let's see, Valentine's Day, after me and boyfriend's lunch instead of a movie I had him take me to PetSmart. LOL. Other than that, I just buy more dog shampoo, dog food, dog booties, leashes, collars.......etc. etc. etc. etc. As far as living room furniture, I have a love seat, full couch & side chair and only two humans living in the house and we hardly ever have visitors. Doods take up the love seat usually. LOL. OH I did buy one of those Shark Steam Mops over the weekend to make sure all the dirt was picked up off the floor and to keep things clean. |

OH THAT;s what I had to buy last year: a BISSEL STEAM CLEANER for those few occaisions they're sick or ate something they shouldn't have
saves wool area rugs ....and alot cheaper than professional yearly cleaning.

Great tip, Lynne! Thanks!
Oh, my gosh, EVERYTHING about my shopping has changed! And I do mean everything! I spend almost all of my money on the dogs...they need so much and keeping them happy is a priority for me...thank goodness my husband agrees! The biggest thing we have done...literally, for our dogs...well, we started in a small home with a small back yard and 2 dogs. We added a dog and then decided to get a bigger place in a more dog friendly area. We moved to 3/4 of an acre in the woods...loved it, but my husband had to drive 2 hours EACH WAY to get to work every day. And I had to drive 45 minutes for decent shopping. We added some dogs, had a litter of pups and decided to move again...needed more space. This time, my husband found a job first! LOL He actually changed his work and then we looked for property nearby. We found 26 acres! Loved it...in the winter (here, winter is our green, fresh, beautiful season) but in the summer...tons of rattlesnakes and foxtails everywhere! We had to confine the dogs to a small acre. So, we moved again! LOL Now we live on a perfect 8 acre parcel with enough space for the dogs and enough beauty for us. We are home. But, if not for the dogs, we'd still be in the city! So, everything else is sort of small potatoes compared to the house changes...but we did actually buy an SUV for the dogs...and I literally measured my tallest dog, standing, to the top of his head...and would only buy one that he could stand up in. So, now, all of our money goes to dog supplies, vet bills, dog food and treats, fencing and stuff to make their home nice for the dogs. Needless to say, we don't get human visitors! LOL |
