A BUS!!

Remember all of those times that we worried about the fires that were bearing down on us? Well, we wished for enough money to buy a bus to use as an evacuation vehicle for our dogs and puppies...good news! A lovely woman in California is DONATING a bus to us! I am so thrilled! We pick it up tomorrow...then I will take pictures and post them here.

This bus is so perfect for us! What good-hearted people there are in the world...and this wonderful woman, and her daughter! I feel so humbled...

Congratulation Jac. That is wonderful news. I hope you never have to you it to escape the fires, but it may come in handy when you go grocery shopping for bulk items.

Perhaps you can use it for a"Family Vacation", and give it a trial run!
(and do a documentary at the same time

Ah, dang, we went to get the bus and the battery is dead! We need to get it charged...we'll go back tomorrow and pick the bus up... but we did get the title and keys!

It is so cool, perfect for us! It has a wheelchair lift and although we won't need that (I hope) we are going to leave it...because if we ever had to lift an injured dog, we could use it! Also it would be good to lift a crate full of puppies, if we ever needed it.
We will take out some of the seats and set up kennels...and we will put kibble and water on board, rotating it, so that we will not need to get some if we are in a huge hurry!
We have even considered putting a hammock from the top so that Dave and I can sleep there, if we need to "camp out" with the Doods during an evacuation...
I am soooo excited!

OH WOW Jac that is awesome news! Congrats and pictures PLEASE!!!! What nice people to donate such a big item! I'd leave the lift too, never know when that could come in handy.
