Saw this on the news tonite. Apparently the deputy let him out and he ran off and hasn't returned. Hope you're ok Thumper!

Stories like this really tug at my heart...it is so very sad. I pray that they find Thumper...safe and well.

This breaks my heart! Prayers for Thumper's safe return and for the family!

When the dog first went missing, Rowland advertised Thumper's disappearance as a typical missing dog, not a highly trained drug K-9.

"We didn't want to get that out in case Thumper had fallen into the wrong hands. We put it out as just a missing pet," said Rowland.
This is EXACTLY what needed to be done. Let's just put it this way. I was approached by two guys in the grocery store about a month ago. They were asking far too many questions and I got that gut feeling that something wasn't right.
I decided to share as little information as possible w/o being rude. But, I seriously was thinking they could try to steal him.
There ARE people out there that WILL do things like this! People that have put money into training dogs like I have and this sheriff, need to be be very careful.
In fact, we were told to NOT put his name on any tags or anything.
This is soooooo frightening!

That is true, Linda, entire litters of puppies have been stolen from Doodle breeders... (
That is another reason I prefer solid fences to electronic ones...people know the value of Doodles and will steal them...

That is why I have a large black barker to protect my little chocolate morsels. Gus alerts us to anything coming too close to the fence. And he jumps 6" in the air to prove to the potential intruder that he could get high enough to use those teeth he is showing during his bark to play bitey face and they should stay away. If only he wasn't waging his tail so hard his bum almost falls off, he would be a more convincing guard dog.

hahahaha...I know what you mean about the tail wag! My fierce dogs, all of them, stand in the corner barking at the neighbors, with their tails wagging so fast they could levitate!
