Default What to do --- puppy mill broker ads on forum

Hi guys,
I'm back from Lancaster, PA from a puppy mill awareness weekend. I won't upset you with the terrible details I heard. In PA alone, there are 2,500 puppy mills, mostly owned by Amish or Mennonite farmers. As well as working with appropriate, enforceable legislation, we need to stop supporting this industry. Whole Foods Grocers made a great stride recently with their farmers' produce. They've informed their suppliers they will no longer purchase produce, dairy products etc from those farmers who also mass produce puppies.
There's something bothering me, there is a puppy mill broker that is in my part of the states, and I am always seeing his ads posted on our forum bar under ads by google. Is there anything we can do to keep his ads off our forum? It seems we are enabling this unethical, despicable practice.

PM Scott directly. I hope he can ban a specific add from appearing here. I alerted him indirectly, but he will have to contact you to tell which add you are referring to.

Liz, I am so sorry to hear how prolific these puppy mills have become...it is insane that people could be so cruel...

I know that in the past Scott (and Mark) has said that the Google ads are randomly selected by Google to target "like-minded" interest and since we are interested in dogs, they put dog related ads on...I wonder if the problem is bigger than just this forum...have you considered getting a petition to present to Google? I mean, they are likely not to pull a lucrative ad...and I understand that everytime someone clicks on an ad, the business pays Google...so it can be a huge money-making venture...but maybe Google can do something, as a company, to cease puppy mill ads....? It is a long-shot, but worth a try.

I believe that we addressed offensive ads recently, concerning another topic, and we were told that we should report the ad to Scott...it would probably help to know the date and time and where on the forum the ad appears...

DITTO to what JAC replied
and also luckily these ads are only up temporarily till they're replaced by a new ad

not sure if SCOTT is able to filter ads specifically as usually the google ads are selected by a Subject/topic in general
such as DOGS.

BUT if a KNOWN factual PUPPY MILL IS advertising GOOGLE should be alerted and/or with a petition as
then they will realize it could affect those choosing ads aka money talks and i won't say the rest but you know what i mean.

I can filter individual ads by the url listed, (e.g. www.xxxxxxxx.com) so all I need is to know which ad it is.
