Default Tia had a seizure

I could sure use your thoughts and prayers for Tia. It is almost five in the morning and Tia is finally settling down after a long seizure. I am calling our vet when the open about 10 this morning. The seizure seemed to be peti mal (not sure of the sp) not grand mal but they went on about 2 hours. Chantelle got up and we called her mom (a reiki master) and we did reiki on Tia. I am so tired and have been crying. Tia was not in pain and seemed ok if she was moving, but when she relaxed she defiantly was seizing. I have worked with people with seizures and Chantelle's mom's dog had seizures so I do know what it was. We have a ton of weeds in our yard so I am on yard duty and no dog is going to graze on weeds. Kevin is working terribly long hours and just can't do the yard and my health won't let me. We haven't had the money to hire someone. I thought I was watching the dogs closely but evidently not. I don't know what I would do with out my Tia so please think of her and if you feel like it say a prayer for her. Thanks.

I called the vet and they said that they recommend blood work shortly after the seizure (they said it was a seizure). It costs too much right now and Tia is acting fine. They said to watch her closely and if it happens again she will need blood work. So it is a waiting game and trying to come up with the money if we need it. Wish us luck please.

I started tying about 6hours ago and got distracted by a client.
How are things going tonight?
Why in the heck don't vets allow minimal payments....like monthly? NO! They want it all NOW!

Tia is doing well. Momma is a wreck!! I haven't slept since the night before last and to top it off I sprained my ankle! I won't let the dogs go outside alone just in case she ate something that did this to her. When I had to deliver some things to Chantelle today I took all of the dogs with me because I wasn't going to leave her home alone. What is helping me is you all. I just love you all for the support and thank you so much. I don't know if I will ever relax about Tia because I am afraid it will happen again. I am afraid to go to sleep. I guess the exhaustion is talking now. Sorry. I need to get us to the point we can get some sort of savings or insurance (I don't know if they will insure her now though). Anyway Thanks so much for your support!

Kathy, I was talking with my husband about this at dinner.
He said last time he went to the vet, there was a woman standing there waiting to pay her bill. That bill was $150. The receptionist said......"That leaves your balance at $650!"
If you took Tia in, do they ask you right away if you can pay?
I KNOW they do in an ER. In fact, when Bogart almost died at 6 months........they had to know we could pay before proceeding!
Also, can you apply for what is call Care Credit?
We have a Care Credit account. It's awesome!
www.carecredit.com
They give you an amount and it works like this. You have so many months to pay at NO INTEREST! If you don't pay within a certain time frame, they REALLY tack on the interest. But, some of these can go for up to a year!
It might be worth your while and MAKE SURE you find a vet that uses Care Credit.

You need to get some SLEEP girl!!
Glad Tia is doing better.

Thank you Linda. We are going through bankrupts so I don't know if we can get any kind of credit card. I went to sleep at 4 am this morning and have slept until about 6 am then slept until 5 pm. I have felt very ill and could not eat. I finally got some yogurt down and a tiny bit of roast beef. Because I felt ill Chantelle fed the dogs for me. Between the stress and spraining my ankle I have been a mess. Tia is just fine now. She has not even had a twitch. Both Tia and Buddy have not left my side until I woke up at 5pm today (even then Tia climbed on to my lap in the recliner). I do love my dogs!

Thanks for all of the support!

Kathy, I know that it is hard, especially when you are so worried and in pain...but do try to continue to eat and rest when you can...our prayers continue for you all.

Well we continue to have drama here. I am sure Kai has kennel cough! I don't know what Chantelle will do when I tell her but he was coughing on my bed and I recognized it as kennel cough.

My ankle I figured out isn't really the problem. What is wrong is in the foot. You know where the toes connect up the foot? Well it is in there. So I am calling my Dr. I hope I can drive to see him. The rest of me is feeling better and Tia is doing great! So for the most part things are much better here. I do appreciate you all!

My goodness, Kathy! I am sorry...this has been a horrible week for you. I hope that your dogs don't get the KC...

I don't know if I should be happy or sad that your ankle is not the problem! You poor thing...I hope that nothing is broken...that whatever is hurting you can be fixed (without a lot of pain or expense!)

Glad that you and Tia are feeling better...let's keep that going, K?

xoxoxo

Geez Kathy...you've been thru the mill and back! But I'm happy to hear that you and Tia are much better! As for your foot...I'm sure you're doctor will be able to figure out what's wrong...arthritus maybe? or maybe you sprained something in the foot! At any rate, take care of yourself...your doggies need you!!! (so do we! )
