They are making a device that texts you cell phone the interior conditions of your car if you leave your dog in it. I still wouldnt do it, just in case. But interesting technology.

WOW! This 14 year old may have a future! When I taught Science, I would teach Scientific Method by asking my students to come up with a real issue/problem.........apply it to scientific method and develop a product!
I was allergic to chalk dust, and one kid came up with an eraser that when I wiped the board, it sucked in the chalk dust like a vacuum! Of course, the student wound up with an A+ in the class. So, this 14 year old is really thinking! But, further, as a teacher, I'd have to agree with the Humane Society. Things fail and also..........if it's even 70 degrees outside, that temp could rise in the car to a deadly temperature and FAST! What I would be concerned about is FIRST for the dear dog.........but secondly, this product could be subject to many, many lawsuits. It may be good if it's not hot or even warm outside so that you have constant communication of some kind with your pet. But, I would never, ever trust it for heat conditions.

Interesting invention by one bright boy!!! Even with this item tho, I'd still feel pretty uncomfortable leaving my dogs in the car....

Bright idea but i agree about NOT leaving dogs or kids in cars.
OR MY GADGET works for free right now: my A/C that was fixed in my landcruiser last year.......IT AIN"T WORKING NOW! sooooooo i get in my truck, open the windows, pant like a dog thinking WOW IT"S SO HOT ! and drive on the freeway doing 70mph to get some air circulating hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa NOW don't worry bout the dogs they're at home laying by a fan, while I shed about 5lbs or so everytime the temp hits above 65 outside and it's sunny. GREAT reminder WHY NOT TO leave a dog or kid in a car. PS Don't worry about me in a hot car i always have bottled water with me

I was pullingout of the super-market parking lot the other day it was about 78 degrees, at around 3pm...I had noticed when I had cimbed ack into my car that it had warmed up consderbly sinceI had only been in the store for 20 mins at most, as I was putting all the windows down, I noticed a younger gal leaving to go into the market , then I noticed her little white dog in the back , she had only left her back 2 windows open a tiny crack....I said "Excuse Me, you may want to consider opening your windows more"..her reply was , "she will be alright , im only gonna be a few minutes"....poor doggy ...poor Hot -Doggy is more like it....I felt bad for the lil thing , panting away....Oh well I tried...

I have animal control on my cell speed dial for such occasions. I call it in, let the authorities sort it out. Maybe a ticket will smarten some people up. Overheating is a terrible torturous death.
