Finally the cast has been removed today! The surgeon said the surgery went well and the joint is healing nicely. Now I have to some therapy on my own and see how I go with relearning how to move the thumb and wrist again. It will be a slow process but it will be much better soon. I am using a gentle leader on Mandy since I am worried about her every pulling and injuring it.
She had a visit with a goldendoodle puppy, once I get pictures I will post them. They had a great time (and she was so tired she slept the evening away!)

WOOHOO! That is GREAT NEWS, Cindy!
It seems it went by fast, but, I'm sure not for you, right?

It was a long 5 weeks. But it was worth it. The "healing" pain is nothing like it was before and this will all go away with time. Iam just glad to get that cast off before it gets really hot here!

I can actually touch my thumb and index finger together, now I have to work on the rest of the fingers, but first things first. My grandson was here tonight giving me pointers on how to touch my fingers and thumb together-just streeeeetch your fingers! So cute. And he even patted my arm really soft when he saw the incisions. He is my lovey. I will download pics of him and Mandy tomorrow, adorable I must say (both of them).
It feels so nice to have that hand and arm free now. And the pain isn't bad at all, and it will get better every day. The surgeon said it could take up to 6 months or more to get the strength back but I am not worried at least the pain is so much better than before.
