Thanks Kathy, for the bump!

Mia, thanks...looks like Eileen ansered this far better than I could...

Eileen...this is a great post. It clarifies what people can do to help if they want to get involved... some people have limited resources and time so they might wish to understand how their time, money or item donation might benefit them while they help Gabby Jack Ranch.

We are a 501 (c)(3) corporation, therefore, your donations of money and items are tax deductible on your itemized income tax. But many of you offering services to the organization may not consider how valuable such a service can be when you put it on your resume.

Employers are always interested in hiring people with a commitment to their communities and strong work ethics. Both of these are met, if not exceeded, by volunteer work for a non-profit corporation.

Students can receive class credits and internship opportunities.

Others might want to improve their knowledge and skills. Working on the administration or project management for a non-profit can produce many valuable returns for your investment. Or, you could learn a new dog/human service that would spark your own business venture.

Finally, and most importantly, there is the satisfaction that you get when you hear the stories, see the faces and meet the poeople who are helped by your kind and selfless acts.

Thank you, to the volunteers that have worked so hard to get us to this point. To those who might be considering the possibility, I'd love to chat with you about it!

UPDATE! We have decided NOT to move forward on the calendar or recipe book. We would like to keep the pictures and recipes already submitted and before we use them we would contact you for permission. We ARE still working on the raffle and will need items to raffle off. We are setting September as our cut off date to receive items, please send any donated items to the address shown on our web page.

We really do appreciate everything you have done to support us! Thanks!

Please feel free to contact us regarding the raffle by writing to Eileen@gabbyjackranch.org
