Hello To All
I have recently "aquired" (found on the side of the road to be exact) what I belive is a female Labradoodle and her friend a Lab. After looking for their family for about 3 months now I have decided that unfortunately no one was looking for them. I already had 2 other "fur babies" (rescue dogs both), and now find myself living with a pack. Having read other posts and looked at the pics. Annie, my doodle, both looks and has much of the personality traits I have read about. I have had dogs, usually only one, most of my life and can't imagine being with out a furry friend, but I find that I am a bit overwhelmed by sheer numbers. I would appriciate any help or tips for running a house with multiple dogs. The two new ones have intigrated well with my other two I have 2 females. Grace, a German Shepherd, and Annie, the Doodle. Two males Sam, All american, and Dufus the Lab. According to my Vet Annie and Dufus are about 6-9 Months and healthy. Thanks for any Help |

The best advice I can give you is a sense of humor! I have 3 labradoodles of my own, plus right now 2 foster doodles. Except for feeding time, there really aren't any issues for me. One in a while play gets a little rough, the house gets a bit dirtier.....but all that extra love makes it all worth while. Of course, with the crappy weather in Ohio right now, I'm hard pressed to stay clean myself....let alone the dogs!
Good luck to you with your pack. If you get a chance, we would love to see pictures of all of them. Bless you for saving the lives and giving homes to those little lost souls!

Hello! My best advice is to listen to Gene! There are others here that have lots of doodles too! We alas only have two dogs. We are waiting for a foster to need us, so any advice you get we will be listening to as well. I also would post this question on the question page as not everyone gets to introductions every day. I find this to be a wonderful learning place and great for friendships! Thanks for helping our furry friends in need! Enjoy!

Ditto!! You have a big heart to have so many. I have two doodles, one golden and one labra- doodle. I want to get another one but not till we move. I think what you are doing is GREAT! And Gene and others will be able to help you better then me. I will say don't forget to laugh. Doodles do the darnedest things. I love my two but the socks and underwear chases we do. ( that is me chasing them to get the socks or/and underwear out of their mouths.) Are pricessless....well sometimes.

HI and CONGRATS!!! i used to have 3 doodles now down to 2 doodles.
LISTEN TO GENE!!and also others here with 3 or more dogs. a SENSE OF HUMOR goes a long ways!! and yes the pack mentality of dogs is more evident and in some ways the dogs seem happier. The ONLY word of a caution: do NOT leave laundry baskets out in the open, do NOT leave food on a coffee table and walk to kitchen to get something, and bath time is more interesting Otherwise it's really alot of fun and they do play alot with each other. you'll fall into a routine which makes it much easier Once again nice to meet you.............hoping to see PICS of all your dogs soon

The most dogs I've had at one time is three and that was a lot of dogs! Try to train them to their names -- for example, "Rover, sit! Spot, stay" That will make life a bit easier. And enjoy the fact that they will exercise each other!

Hi - welcome to the forum and, I have to say, congratulations on rescuing so many dogs! I have 4 dogs too...2 Cavaliers, a Lab and a doodle puppy - all self-inflicted (not rescued) so I have no-one to blame but myself! My cavs are grumpy old men of 9yrs, and they're fairly easy to look after...food, a short walk and somewhere to snooze all day and they're as happy as Larry. my doodle Charlie (6mths) and Lab Meg (7 yrs) adore each other and play nearly nonstop all day. They share the same lab fondness for food, so making sure you haven't popped your dinner down on the coffee table 'just for a second' is very important, cos after one second it won't be there any longer
