Hi, New to the forum and relatively new to being a Labradoodle owner. We've had Ziggy for almost a year now...he's 14 months old. He's a tall one...we call him goat dog or pony dog. He really likes to snuggle, jump, take car rides, eat grass, make new friends, chew on anything/everything, play in/with the snow, etc...
I'm hoping he's done growing...from what I've read, it seems like he should be done now. He's about 29" tall...but when he stands on his back paws, he can look me in the eye and I'm 5' 10". Anyone know how to work on not getting him to jump on people? He loves jumping around and showing his excitement that way but I'm afraid he's going to hurt someone. He's got so much puppy energy. But, overall, he's just a lover. |

Here's a couple pics of Ziggy. There are so many different kinds of Labradoodles...his hair is more lab than doodle (and sheds as much as a lab). His mom was a lab and his dad a poodle so he's a first generation...which we learned is more likely to shed...but we still love him
Early pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() More recent: ![]() ![]() ![]() His 1st Birthday party, we were camping so he was a little dirty: ![]() It's hard to stop taking pictures he's so cute |

Hi! & Welcome to the forum! You will find that this forum is loaded with valuable info...
I just read this last night on another thread "best advice you were ever given" Jac said Quote:
Personally...I like the large size, however, there are alot of people whom can't own/manage the giant ones. These guys are such big loves...but yes, you really have to get a handle on the jumping! |

HI and welcome Ziggy's mom!! nice to meet you.
I don't knwo what happened but there were white boxes with X's ......so hope you don't mind but got the pictures to show up now WOW!!! Ziggy is so cute and has grown considerably since he was a puppy. LOVE all the pics!!!! for jumping, you can try ingoring him completely when he jumps. keep walking away and don't look at him. Once he sits/settles then he can get attention.----there's so many methods to try to see which one works for you and Ziggy we LOVE doodles of all kinds and sizes. Max (black ld) in only 26in tall and approx 75-80lbs at my vets they say he's one of the smaller ones Peanut (cream GD) is a Tank-a-doodle , 23in tall and approx 56-58lbs our low rider but built like a tank you'll love this forum.......great people, advice, laughter, TONS of pics and topics and more. Nice to meet you!

Welcome! Ziggy is a big boy! Tia is 20 months old and 84 lbs. 25 inches tall. I could not see your pictures. It just says image when I look. It is funny my neighbor told me that this group has made a wonderful difference in my attitude! She says I seem so much happier. That is what sharing about your "kids" will do for you!

Welcome Ziggy and Ziggymom. He's a lovely big fellow. The thing that's nice about doodles is not so much the way they look, it's the way they are. That's why we love all of them because we know what great personalities they are and they have such gentle natures. My suggestion for Ziggy's jumping up is to turn you back on him when he does so then to say, "no jumping" in a harsh voice and to hold his feet on the ground and then to pet him and tell him what a good boy he is. In time he'll get the message, he'll learn what "no Jumping" means and you can say it when he approaches a visitor.

Welcome to the forum! Ziggy is beautiful. We too, have an F1. Although there is shedding, they don't mat and if you brush regularly you can cut down on it some. We look forward to more pictures of Ziggy!!
