Truman turned 1

Greetings everyone:

I'm not sure if I posted Truman's picture correctly

But we could not be more happy with our LabDood. He was born Halloween 07 and we got him mid December just before my son's 2nd birthday. Truman has grown into a very big dog at 1 but could not be more gentile with my son in particular, but anyone at our house. He is extremely friendly. I think that he may have fish or duck mixed into his breeding because we take him to the lake in our neighborhood once a week and he doesn't get out of the water. I now have a big kiddie pool in the back yard for him. He sits in the pool and chews on the toy of his pleasure for hours. It's is very funny. He loves to swim and jump into the lake after his ball or frisbee. Truman is very active and will play all day but was very easy to train. I have to buy him a big ole' ham bone about once a week because if I don't he'll chew anything else he can get his paws on including our deck. He has and will continue to be a blessing to my family.

Hi Annie,

Thank you! We're happy to be aboard. We are located just outside of Little Rock Arkansas. The picture of your Lab-Dood is precious. Truman is really funny about the water, I will stand at the bottom of our hill/backyard and throw his toys way up the hill and he'll run up the hill and comeback running so fast down the hill that he barely turns or slows down before running over our privacy fence but after a few trips he'll start back down the hill to me and re-direct himself to the pool. He'll laydown in the pool so that I can just see his head and he'll squeek his toy or ball as loudly as possibly likes he's showing off that he has the toy and that he's in the pool. It's too funny.

He is so sweet though, there is a stray cat in our neighborhood that we now feed because Truman likes him so much. He'll let the kitty drink out of his water bowl, sleep in his dogloo etc. What a great breed of dog!

Thank you very much. Yours is adorable as well. I will take some pics this weekend of his head sticking out of the water swimming after the ducks, weather permitting. The ducks taunt him pretty good. Truman hasn't figured out that he's not quite as mobile in the water as the ducks. Honestly, I think that if the ducks squaked and flapped their wings Truman would swim back to shore with his tail between his legs as quickly as possible.

I'm amazed that he dries so fast. We have about a mile walk back from the lake and Truman is almost dry by the time we get back.

Truman is very handsome!!! Maya loves the water too. She loves the pool, ocean, whatever she can jump into. She is funny to watch in the water as well. The only way she can enter water is by jumping into it!!! Everyone loved to watch her and laugh at her when we were at the pool for open doggie swim!!!
