Hi! I am a new member here. My husband and I have a 14 month old "Double Poodle Doodle" (F1B) named Sundance. I have been reading the forum for many months and it has helped me a great deal. It sounds like we all go through many of the same issues and that eventually they (the issues) go away or we learn to live with them. My boy is cute, smart, lively, etc. and is a great companion. We have gone through leash issues, eating issues (that will be a continuing story), some separation anxiety, dominance, etc., but it has been worth it because he is turning into a GREAT dog. We live in the mountains (the Sierra Nevada by Reno and Lake Tahoe) and hiking is our passion. He is turning into an excellent trail dog, but still needs lots of supervision because he thinks everyone and everything on the trail is his best friend! Maybe this is common in these dogs, but he can sniff out anything...he is a star at getting mushrooms, any dead thing, actually anything at all...he finds socks, gloves, animals, toys etc. in the woods. His talents are being wasted I'm afraid, but he doesn't know it. Anyway, thanks for all the good information and hope I can be of help too.

Hi Sundance and family!
Great name! You live in a beautiful area of the states! I can imagine how much fun you guys must have hiking up there. I know its not the place to ask questions, so I will ask in the 'Questions' section how early and how much walking/ hiking doodles can/should do. Looking forward to hear more about your hikes - oh and would love to see pics too. H. |

Thank you all for your nice welcome. I am kind of computer illiterate and have slow speed internet...pictures may take awhile...sorry. He looked like the puppy that "Blueteal" has pictured. He's all white and curly...like a "Puli" with short dreadlocks. Thanks again...
