I have never experienced a dog as wonderful as my doodle Cooper. I thought I was bestowed this one time gift from above. Then I found your forum and am thrilled to learn you all have received wonderful doodle gifts also. Cooper is 4 months old and is the greatest dog ever (as if you haven’t heard that before).
We live on a family farm with Larry's folks (Bob & Norma) living just down the road. Due to Bob having a couple of strokes this last year, he is mostly house bound. Bob and Norma are my day time puppy watchers. Cooper has been good for Bob, by getting him outside when Cooper needs his potty breaks ever hour or so. Cooper’s story 8/2008 My Nephew Max (13) and I are taking Cooper to positive reinforcement puppy obedience class. We have learned a lot and Cooper loves it. Cooper learns so quickly and he will do anything if he thinks a treat or some extra loving will be given. It's amazing that Cooper can be across the yard and I say Cooper Come (1 time) and He is at my side in a matter of seconds. I should mention we took the puppy class to teach me, Cooper was already perfect. A Day in the Life of Cooper Cooper starts his day with a walk around the yard with me about 5:30am, I dry off his feet they he lays in bed with Larry (my husband) while I get ready for work. Cooper eats, gets me off to work, then he has his morning cuddle with Larry (while Larry has his coffee). Then the 2 of them feed the cats, sheep, and cattle and then coffee and cuddle time again. Next Cooper and Larry are off to the folks where there are pig chores to do and maybe some hang out in the garage time. Well it is about 8:30 or 9:00 now, time to go in the folks house and hang out with Larry's Dad (cooper sleeps next to Bob's chair between a couple of games of ball or tug). In the afternoon Cooper helps Norma wash, candle and pack up the chicken eggs to put in the cooler for later delivery. It sure is rough being a farm dog. I pick up Cooper at 4:30; I hear how his day was and who came to visit him. We go home play some fetch, run around the yard. He helps with night chores (feed the cats, sheep and cattle) but most importantly is the jumping in and out of the pile of hay. During dinner he naps and then the night begins (PUPPY TIME). He is in, He's out, He is in, He's out. He is playing with his bunny or pillow. He is outside running and playing fetch. With quick rests in between of course. Then I brush Cooper. That's when Larry sits in his recliner and tries to read the paper, Cooper is up on the foot of the recliner chewing on bunny, if Cooper is not getting enough attention he will push bunny on the floor with his nose. Larry stops reading picks up bunny. Cooper pushes bunny on the floor again and again and again (who is training whom). Now the news paper is put away and Larry is on the floor with Cooper (life is good). Just before sunset Cooper wants outside again. We sit on the grass in the back yard and watch the kittens play across the yard. After the kittens go back to the barn and the sun is tucked in for the night we go back inside, another perfect day is coming to an end. Cooper waits for me to go to bed (he knows he gets 1/2 of the bed until Larry comes in, then he is cut back to 1/3 out of the middle of course). And then we do it all over tomorrow. I sure do love having a Doodle in the house.

Welcome to you, Larry and Cooper. I thought in another life I'd like to come back as one of my doodles. Now I'm not sure. Maybe I should come back as one of yours.
