Hello- we have a 3 1/2 year old labradoodle named Freedom. He's the most lovable and social dog I've ever had the pleasue of owning. We are sadden by the fact that he's alone far too often. We live in Waldorf MD, work in No. VA/Reston so he's alone for more than 8 hours a day. We are looking for a loving family that will give Freedom companionship (human contact), lots of space to play retrieve the ball, and allow us to keep in contact and to visit Freedom.
If you have the space and love please contact me to negotiate the adoption. PLEASE PM ... Thank you p.s. - he's about 70lbs blonde and sandy in color Father was a standard poodle - mom a lab retriever |

Have you ever thought of doggy daycare so you could keep him but he would have companionship. How about a second doodle? So sad to have to give him up after forming a loving relationship with him

If you do not want to or really cannot keep your doodle then please disregard my advice
Our doodles are alone 9 hrs per day Mon-Wed and then Fri (my husband recently started working at home Thursdays - before that they were alone for this time 5 days a week). Even before we got Kirby, Dexter was on this schedule and has never had a problem. We walk the dogs in the morning and give them a good hour of exercise in our yard or on a walk in the afternoon. Is he destructive when you are away? We have taped our doodles on a webcam before and found that they literally sleep the entire 9 hours. I totally understand there are situations where it is in the best interest of the humans and the dog to rehome - if this is the case, then I admire you for wanting better for your dog. But if it's just the being alone for 8 hrs a day, I think you could work around this.

Wow I thought I was the only one that noticed the same thing. C'mon man 3.5 years to figure this out? What's the REAL STORY...

For once i really don't know what to say as this is a 3.5yr old doodle
not a young puppy. While there are many people looking for older already trained doodles i guess i would question WHY NOW? or is this something that was thought about and always put aside thinking things eventually will work out? and lastly if you doodle is alone alot .... 1. the the one or two days a week my two are crated for 6 to possibly 8 hours , 1st thing i do is take them out back for a good run outside then feed them then another run out back. once inside we either play fetch or i sit down with them just giving them belly rubs and hugs etc 2. IF you give up Freedom, it may be hard on the other family to keep letting you stay in contact and/or see him. and IT may be hard on you as well as confusing to FREEDOM. 3. IF you give up Freedom please give ALL INFO from training he is capable of, fav things to do , his habits both GOOD and NOT-so-Good i have fostered dogs on and off for 30yrs....the more info the bettter to finding the right forever home aka family and the better for your doodle as well. it elminates questions, frustrations and enables your dog to keep developing and be himself at the same time while learning to trust another family. 4. I myself had to give up my 3rd doodle which believe me wasn't easy, many tears were shed but OMG he's with an awesome family now via this forum. NOW i don't see him anymore but i do hear all about him , see pictures and more. For me it warms my heart but i know if he lived close it'd cause me heartache. 5. I really wish you luck and hope the best decision possible is made if there is a way to keep Freedom possibly daycare, a dogwalker may be the answer for now. and Putting aside the extra time in the morning and at night to give FREEDOM the little extra time w/him in the past with one job i got up 2hours early to play with my doodles before going to work. keep us posted as this i am sure is NOT an easy decision but think it through cause once Freedom is with another family will your heart always ache for him?
