Hello,
I thought I'd like to make contact with some labradoodle owners. My husband and I have been standard poodle people for many years and now we have a 6 mths old puppy from Tasmanian Labradoodles called Hugo the Boss. We still have a standard poodle, aged 10, and her name is Gorgeous Gussy. We live on Norfolk Island in the South Pacific. Here I am (Anne) with Hugo and Gussy.

Hi Anne, welcome!
I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of moving this post out of "pose with your doodle" and moved it to "Introductions"! I think this deserves a thread of it's own Hope to see more photos of you and Hugo the Boss (and Gorgeous Gussy too How are things in the South Pacific these days??

This is the first time I've ever joined a forum so I'm muddling along with this. Please point me in the right direction if you see me going wrong. When I saw all those beautiful dogs I just had to take the plunge.
Rose, I'm only a tiny bit ahead of you as I only managed to add a very small photo. I use Picassa and I know there is a way to get bigger ones in so I'll work on that. We are a 3 hour flight from eastern Australia. Abby, Norfolk Island is part of Australia but we have our own government, laws etc. We've been living here for 8 1/2 years and only yesterday were we granted our official residency. We came in Jan 2000 on a 3 year posting. My husband was Manager of the National Park. On Christmas day 2001 our house in Australia was destroyed in a bush fire so we decided to stay. Norfolk Island is 8 kms long and 5 kms wide. If you know the story of the Mutuny on the Bounty it is where the mutineers ended up after living for several years on Pitcairn Island. And if I've managed to do this correctly here is Hugo at 6 mths. No, it's not right so advice please.

I think Abby is actually Jane, sorry. And what we do here now is own a film hire and retail shop. We sell swim wear, pashmina and silk stoles, Hawaiian shirts etc.
It appears that most of my new friends are living in USA. We have our own connection with your country. Our elder son is married to an American he met when she was a uni exchange student down under. They, and our 2 baby grandchildren, have been living in Austin Tx for the last 6 years. I'm pleased to say they are in the act of moving to San Diego. That will make them much easier and cheaper to get to for our annual pilgrimage. Each year we visit somewhere different for a week before going to them. Last November it was New York which we loved.
