I just got Bodzin from a shelter and he is GREAT! I have been telling my husband how great doodles are and he can't even believe how great this 5 month old is! He has been around rotts growing up and was expecting a monster puppy. Bodzin is a sweetheart... I cannot understand why anyone gave him up.
Oh... and he was purchased from a breeder in Illinois at 6 weeks and his dad's name is Berry Patch Apollo (registered red male poodle). If you think you know who bred him, I would love to know more about his history. Thanks! |

I googled the poodle you mentioned and found this website. It's probably the breeder he's from.

Just casue I can be untrusting soemtimes and the whole recent Ellen thing that came up..... I would tread cautiously on contacting his breeder. Most have a clause in thier contract that if you need to rehome your dog you must contact the breeder. Most breeders I know would not let their dog go into a shelter. I just don't want them to have any legal recourse to take the pup from you. That is just me.
Congrats on your new baby. They sure are a great breed!! |

Welcome Windex and Bodzin!
I think I would contact the breeder. She should be happy he is in a good home and she should know that the other owners dumped him in a shelter. Maybe she will now add a rehoming clause into her contracts. She also offers a 2 year health warranty, maybe she would transfer it to you (does it stay with the puppy or the original owner?) He is adorable! I bet he is male puppy number 3 on the website(because he looks wavy and the others look straight):

Thanks for the kind words and welcome. I did send the breeders an email to let them know that he is in a good home. I read that contract too and it wouldn't seem that anything in there would imply that they would have any right to take him from us. That would be horrible!
I am sure that I will have many questions as we grow older. |
