Default Greetings, from Southern Coastal Georgia!

Hi! We are a military family stationed in Southern Coastal Georgia and just got our first Doodle. Our precious Treeing Walker Coonhound (Scarlett) passed away in September at the age of 9 while my husband was in Afghanistan, and he said he didn't want to get another dog since we would be moving 3 times in the next 24 months. He got home on October 10th, and it wasn't 24 hours later that he decided we had to have another dog. He says he decided to get another dog for me, but when he called my mom, he told her that he really needed a dog to drink a beer with on the back deck! We are letting him believe that this was for me though! Knowing that our Scarlett was getting up there, and had been having some health issues, we talked about a new puppy before my husband deployed, and we decided that a Doodle was going to be for us. I grew up with poodles, all my life, so I was familiar with the breed, and my husband wanted a dog that would play fetch with him. That's how we decided on our Labradoodle! We brought Georgia home with us on October 12th! So, that's how we came to be Doodle people, and so far, so great! I am learning to love an active puppy, and I am so glad that we brought her home!

Welcome and congrats! Georgia is absolutely adorable! How old is she? We got our first doodle at the end of June (she's 6 months old now) and we we're very happy with her (Stella.) The lab in her certainly gives her a lot of puppy energy but it also makes her loving and a lot of fun. Hopefully you'll find this forum informative. (I did/do!)

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear about your Scarlett, loosing a pet is always heartbreaking, just take comfort in knowing that she will be waiting for you on the other side of the bridge and that little Miss Georgia will keep you on your toes and fill your day with fun and laughter!
