Smile KC And Me !

Hi guys, I've stumbled across this forum a few times in the last couple of weeks and I've found it very helpful!

We got KC, our F1 Labradoodle 4 weeks ago tomorrow and we've had a bit of trouble to say the least!
She's fantastic right now - it's amazing to see what a little bit of love can do!

We found her online on a website called donedeal which is almost like the "Pink Pages" section of a newspaper where people put up for sale ads. We fell in love with the idea of her and drove to see her the next day.
There were two litters, one black and one cream. She caught my eye because she had a beautiful temperament.

When we brought her home she FROZE in the house. Wouldn't move a muscle. They weren't allowed into the house in her previous house and she was terrified. It was horrible. Eventually she ran out the back garden and stayed out there. I had to lift her into the house and then between rooms because she was too afraid to move through doors. The doors petrified her!
She was five months old and hadn't been house trained or even allowed into a house. It was very bad of the breeder, in my opinion..

After a few days she was going into different rooms but she would run away if you went near her.
A main issue we had was walking her on the lead. She is very energetic but WOULD NOT walk on the lead so we just kept putting a lead on her as she walked around.
Three broken leads later she's finally walking for me! Haha.

We've had her four weeks, as I said, and I love her so much! We always play in the garden and she will sit for me and come to me and walk for me. She will also leave things. We brought her to an obedience class with around 40 other dogs and she has the time of her life there! She's shedding like mad though, we're finding clumps of hair everywhere. We need a finer brush I think.

Here are some pictures of KC !

Hi there, KC looks a darling. I'm so sorry to hear she had such a bad time before you got her. At least she has a happy home now.

I am also a new member, our puppy, Ruff, will come home around 20th June.

Awwwwwwww.....she is really adorable! I'm so happy for you!

When you say you got her at donedeal.......did she come from a reputable breeder? I hate asking this question, but it's important to know. If a breeder has just left pups outside and hasn't brought them in and socialized them........that's really poor!
Most of the breeders, like Bogart's, raised the pups indoors and some even socialized them with kids etc.
They played with them, tossled their ears, played with their toes and gave them love.
It's not wonder KC froze and was terrified.

YOU did a great job in loving KC enough for her to trust and feel comfortable. A big pat on the back to YOU!!

KC is DARLING!!!!! What a sweet face she has. And bless her little heart on her initial struggles, it breaks my heart to hear what life was like for her and how she was when she came home to you. What a wonderful person you are to give her such a loving home. Sounds like she hit the jackpot with her new home and family Congrats, she just looks so sweet!!!!

Yeah I honestly think that being allowed into the house to meet and okay with their many (adult) children who live with them would have helped her so much. She's so unused to foreign sounds but Its amazing to see how shes changing day by day. Even her fur is filling out more like a labradoodle now. She's so funny though, one minute shell be playin with my mum and I and the next someone will come into the house that she's afraid of and she will seem like shes a dog who been abused. We're almost positive she wasn't abused (physically) - she just lacked social contact and is finding so many things strange moving from the countryside to pretty much the city..

The breeder was just breeding a litter or two on the side-she wasn't a reputable breeder but we fell in love with her and couldn't change our minds! Haha
Thank you for your lovely responses!
