Default Hi from Rochester, NY

Hi, My name is Debbie and my F1b miniature Labradoodle is Kira. I tried to join the forum 2 years ago when I got her but they said I was a spammer and not allowed in (turns out my kids downloaded a music sharing site and someone was getting into my computer) so I have just been reading as a guest. I have learned so much and I enjoy reading about people who feel the same way I do about my doodle, so the other night I decided to try again and had no problem registering!

2-1/2 years ago my sister came over with her standard chocolate Australian Labradoodle puppy that looked like a little bear and said she was going to be a guardian for her friend who is a local breeder. My first question was a Labra what?! And what do mean guardian? She just laughed and said you'll see they are the best dogs! Then a month later she brought home a red F1b miniature Labradoodle she was also going to be a guardian for.

I was starting to be obsessed with her dogs, which wasn't good because my husband and I decided no more dogs. We had a shepherd lab mix, we called her a Lollypop special because we didn't know exactly what she was, she looked more like a seal than a dog and we got her at our local shelter Lollypop Farm. We had Sheba 13 years and it killed us when we had to put her to sleep but she couldn't walk anymore and was in so much pain it wasn't fair. We were dog free for 7 years and it took meeting a doodle to change my mind!

It took some begging but my husband finally gave in and we called my sisters friend to see what she had. I was planning on bringing my new dog with me to work so I wanted a small, red, wavy haired one like my sister's miniature which was 15 lbs. She didn't have any litters at the time but she did have 1 older puppy that she was planning on keeping to breed. She was 4 months old, white, curly poodle hair and a double the size (28lbs) that I was planning on but none of that mattered it was love at first sight! We had already decided not to be guardians but to buy her and it has been the best decision we have ever made! Kira has brought us so much laughter and happiness, there is nothing like a doodle!

When we got Kira she was crate trained, house trained, and didn't go on the furniture. She is still house trained but she goes on the furniture and sleeps right in the middle of us belly up and we wouldn't have it any other way!

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

WELCOME TO THE FORUM, DEBBIE!!

What an amazing story!
Seems like it's WE that have to get to know YOU the SPAMMER!! The STALKER!
I am soooo happy that you finally were able to register! That would have made me crazy!

Kira is BEAUTIFUL! AND what a bonus having so much training done prior to bringing her home!
We look forward to more stories and sharing.

Thanks LindaMarie and your Bogart is a handsome guy!
I am definitely not a spammer (not on purpose at least) and it did make me nuts! I tried to explain and straighten it out but I never received a response. I only stalk because I found this forum after Kira's first trip to the groomer! What a shock that was, I thought they gave me the wrong dog! Now I check before I do anything from buying shampoo and brushes to what flea preventative to use. The answer to any question you have is in here someplace and everyone is so helpful.

Debbie.......you HAVE to know I was JK about the stalker and spammer, right?
Why did you think they had given you the wrong dog?

Yes, this forum has been going for a looooooong time and it sees everything has been discussed. But, we nevermind going over things again.
It makes it fun and we get to know each other and our doodles!

Don't worry Linda I have stalked enough on here to know you guys like to joke around! LOL!!
I had never had any experience with a dog groomer so when I went for the first time I told her that I wanted her cut the same just shorter. So I guess it's kind of my fault, I wasn't specific enough. The first picture was right before her appointment, the second is right after. I just wasn't expecting her to look like that and I didn't think she was so skinny.

Hi Annmarie, I wish I could have contacted you sooner too but it's ok I'm in now! I am in the Gates - Spencerport area right by the canal. What area are you in? I found a groomer that I like her name is Janice at K9 Design in Greece. Just out of curiosity who are the groomers you recommend? Peanut and Max are very cute too! Thanks for the welcome.
