Hello All,
Introducing Spenser (and me): Spenser Two weeks ago my wife got picked up by a stray puppy. We live in the north east corner of Los Angeles in a single family residential neighborhood that has a lot of stray dogs running around. We've been there for about a year and a half. We have always had cats and have two now. Because we always lived in apartments or condos we never had a dog. Now that we have the house we've been talking about getting one but figured we'd wait awhile. Well this puppy was running up and down the street when we were bringing in the trash bins. It said hello to Deb then ran across the street where they yelled at him and shoo'd him away. Deb called to him and he ran over, jumped on her lap and hugged her. It was all over at that moment. We made an appointment with the vet for the next morning. The vet thinks that Spenser is about 8 months old (I think maybe a little older) and appears to be a labradoodle with Airedale length legs. He weighs about 16 pounds and had no collar/tag, no microchip, was very skinny, and dirty. I checked all the lost dog sites I could find and nothing even close. So he's our dog now. And my wife just told me she hasn't seen me smile or laugh as much in a long time. I'd love to hear what people think his breed mix might be. I've started reading through the forum threads and am happy to have found a site like this. I'm sure I'll be back asking lots of questions. |

WELCOME!!
What a cutie and thank God for you and Deb! He now has a home and it sounds like he is a really happy and LUCKY camper! If the vet says Labradoodle than it's likely he is. But, I question the weight, even though a stray, to be 16LBS at 8 months. I don't recall what Bogart weighed at 8 months.......but I think it was around 30LBS. So, he may have other than 1/2 and 1/2 lab and poodle in him............something smaller. Regardless, YOU are HAPPY and you have a really cool dog!!

HI soooooo nice to meet you and CONGRATS!!!
when a dog picks you out that's it......like you said it's all over i dont' see a picture and would LOVE TO!!! how big is your doodle in height? say measurign from floor to shoulder? also if your doodle is a stray he may just need to put on some weight as you don't know how long he went without food etc and/or may be smaller like a mini doodle i really can't wait to hear stories and see a picture! Oh we've had others have doodles and/or have other types of dogs that look like doodles. Doesn't matter as we welcome one and all
