Hello Everybody! I just found this forum and am very excited to have found so many other happy doodle owners. They are the best, aren't they?! My puppy is Winnie, and she is now 5 months old. I have to say, I think she is getting cuter all the time. She joined our family in February, and has been a great addition. I have three very active children, a senior Springer Spaniel and a guinea pig. Winnie just fit right in, and manages to keep up with all the commotion

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!
Winnie is such a dollbaby!! Interesting! I had a Springer Spaniel 6 days before I got Bogart. He got Lymphoma and well..........you guessed it. I am sooooooo glad to hear everyone is getting along! My SPringer could never have accepted another dog in the family. I loved him dearly and was a disaster when he died......but he wasn't all that great with other dogs! ENJOY and keep us posted!

Winnie is adorable!! I find that my doodle loves everyone and everything -- I have two other dogs....a 6 pound maltese and a 7 pound yorkie-poo -- he plays so cute with both of them....right down on their level - we call him our gentle giant (at 70 lbs he is huge compared to them). We also have a hedge hog and a ferret -- when he plays with the ferret, it is a non-stop comedy show.

Well, my Springer does not like her at all. He growls every time she comes near him. This was actually very surprising to us, because he has always been very submissive with other dogs and just the biggest marshmallow in general. We never heard him growl in the seven years we have had him. We never thought that he would have a problem with another dog in the house. On the other hand, he is 13 years old now, and Winnie thinks that his big long ears are the perfect chew toy! We are working hard to protect Doc from her silly puppy behavior, and are making some progress. Yesterday they actually laid on the same doggie bed.
Winnie and the guinea pig have developed quite a love for each other, and have shared some kisses through the safety of the guinea pig cage. I am sorry to hear of your loss. As our "Doc" is aging, this is becoming more of a conversation in or house. Winnie has been great for my children. I have eight year old twins. Lilli has ADHD, and her brother Sam has Asperger's, and Winnie is just great with them. Especially my son. She seems to just sense that something about him is different, and is very gentle with him. He thinks that he is the "puppy whisperer", because she is so good with him, while she is more rambunctious with his sister. |

AHA! So the Springer Spaniel didn't let me down!
Seriously! I absolutely LOVE those dogs, but WOW! They do have their way and can be very jealous and possessive. I'm happy to hear they actually shared a bed....... Quote:

Thank you Linda andKaren for welcoming me
I am looking forward to learning lots of things from all of you doodle owners. Karen, I love Hedgehogs. I grew up in Germany where they live in the gardens. Sometimes in the winter they would find their way into the basement to hibernate. Unfortunately we see them less and less in Germany now. But, every time I go, I pick up some little Hedgehog thingimajig. |

Hello everyone,
I have been reading this forum since Christmas. We lost our much loved yellow lab in November and I was inconsolable. I loved him like I gave birth to him and it still hurts everyday. BUT, On May 8 we brought home a 7 week old F1b Labradoodle pup we've named Griffin. The first week was hard because of all the reminders of my labs' baby days - but now I am so in love with this baby. He is a handful, smart, and very engaged with everyone in the family. I can tell he is going to be the best dog ever. I have learned a lot from reading the posts here. Since this is our first labradoodle, I look forward to all that you have to teach and share with us! Thank you so much! Shelia and Griffin |
