Hello! Welcome to you and your adorable Rupert! He is so danged cute! You are in for quite a ride! We are happy to help in any way that we can.
For starters, here is a good article on crate (and potty) training: http://www.inch.com/~dogs/cratetraining.html |

WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
Rupert looks like a little lambie..........so adorable! Did you purchase a crate already? It should be one that fits his size.........big enough to turn around, stand and sit in........but small enough where he would be uncomfortable soiling it. Good luck and please keep us posted and more PICS!

Thanks for all the advice. We paid for his on Saturday and we go back and get him in 2 weeks so i could get the apartment ready. Hes so cute and for the most part hes very calm. First question is how can I puppyproof the apt so that he cant chew on any wires? I am going to crate train him and got the lifestages crate so i can use it as it grows; but overnight how will I know if he needs to go?

Congratulations!
It is tough teaching puppies not to chew on things, like wires...and things you can't even think of now...I don't know that it is possible to puppy proof a home, but you can try! I would suggest that you start by thethering him to you (attach his leash to you) so that you can observe him and you will know immediately if he is in trouble...and you can reward his good behavior, which is just as important. Teach him the "leave it" command and the "drop it" command as soon as possible. I am an advocate of clicker training and would advise you to learn how to do that while you are waiting on your pup. You will be amazed at the things he will learn with clicker training and it is such a positive way to teach. So, my advice is that while you can try to puppy proof your home, and it is an excellent thing that you want to do that...you should be prepared to watch him every second that he is free...or to crate him for the periods that you can't watch him. |

Awwww, what a cutie! He does look like a little lamb.
I got Linus from a breeder in Ohio, so I'm curious where Rupert comes from. They could be related! You can PM me if you want. Welcome to the wonderful world of Doodles. They really are great, goofy, bundles of fun.

Just called the breeder to ask when we can come get the puppy and was told he was sold on accident. I guess she went out of town and her daughter was in charge and sold the puppy. I am beyond upset. All she was willing to do was refund the puppy price we paid. So now we have all the puppys stuff and no puppy
Anyone know any good breeders in Ohio? |
