Default Our boy Taco

Hi everybody!

I am new as a member to this forum but I've been reading your stories for over a half year, before I got my wonderful doodle. I live in Finland, in the southwestern archipelago. My husband is allergic so I began searching for information about labradoodles (and breeders) for over 1,5 year ago, it wasn´t easy!

It's a looong story but we got our boy from Stockholm, Sweden after easter and it has been a long and rocky road but we are so happy to have him, he is adorable It's just so frustrating because it's such a rear breed in Europe, I've never seen a doodle in Finland but I've heard that there are about 20 of them in the whole country. So you don't have anybody to turn to for advice or support here. That's why I'm so happy over this site I have gotten many good advices from here, last time when we took him to the groomers for the first time, I had printed a photo from here so I had something to show them about how to trim him. And he looks good!

I'll try to post photos later and write more,

with autumn greetings from the sunny archipelago
Elina

Hi again!

I copypasted my writing from Introductions, didn't understand this with topics BUT I managed to make an avatar, and let's see if I manage to get some photos here...

In the first picture he is 2 months old, in the second 5 months and in the third photo he's on his way to the groomers and the last photo is at home from the groomers
It's near to midnight here so I'll hit the sack, thank you all so much for welcoming us to the site!

Elina

Good morning!

Oops, my photos came out a little on the small side so that's something to look into before I post some new ones.

About Taco: He is an F4 labradoodle, his father lives in England and mother in Sweden. We originally were on a waiting list to a breeder in Denmark, and whilst waiting for news from there we wanted to visit a doodle-family to see how my husband would react to them (both asthma and allergies).

So after many e-mails here and there we found a wonderful family that lives in Stockholm and whos labradoodle had just had puppies on Valentines day this year We went on a romantic cruise to Stockholm, visited the family and spent the whole day admiring the puppies and their wonderful mother! At the end we were told that one male puppy was without a home because he was the biggest of the bunch and because so many had wanted a girl. We were honoured to be asked if we would want to adopt him. We fell in love right then and there! He was about 8-9 weeks then but we could'nt pick him up before a few weeks after when I flew over with my mother to pick him up. He was so big then so I wasn't allowed to take him in the cabin with me so I had to leave him in his box to go with the luggage, it was horrible But after the flight I was his hero, I saved him from the big bad aeroplane Now he doesn't want to leave me, he follows me where ever I go, my big beautyful boy.

He has a thick, wavy fleececoat, you just want to stick your face in it and our (3) children do that a lot He's really loveable, calm, patient, friendly and kind. His mother is a therapydog and most of his brothers and sisters went to training to bee either therapydogs or guide dogs for the blind (first time in Sweden when they took a mixed race dog to this training!). So naturally we are so proud of him and his family!

Michelle and Annmarie: I registered to http://www.flickr.com and downloaded photos from our computer to there and then added them here with help of gene's instructions, thank you gene! I just rightclicked on the photo in flickr and took "properties", then painted over the URL adress. Came here to post a reply, clicked on the "Img" button and then pasted the adress, checked via "Prewiew" that the photos really came and voila! But I have to figure out how to get them bigger...

Kathie: I looked at your avatar and It was like looking at Taco, the same expression and colour

One of Tacos favourite places ...he can easily check where mom is at, up- or downstairs, convenient!

I have to add; I'm sorry about my misspelling or wrong choice of words (for example I meant mixed breed, not race), I'm a Finnish Swede so I think in swedish and translate to english. And sometimes I get it so wrong , for example breed is "ras" in swedish, therefore the silly error. I hope you all have patience with me!

Don't be silly Elina....you're doing fantastic with your translations!!! I would never have known you were translating if you hadn't told us!!!

Elina, Taco is one of the prettiest Doodles I have seen...well, he does remind me of a few of my own pups so I may be a bit prejudiced!

Please don't apologize for any misspelled words or translations! We are just so happy to have you here and, well, we misspell and have typos and use wrong words...it just makes us more charming...you too!
