Hi Labradoodle lovers!
My name is Teena, i live in Australia and i have just adopted a 6 month old girl Labradoodle, Bailey. She had a bad Staf infection as a new born, so has been through a lot, and she is very shy and timid. I guess i do not have any specific questions at the moment, but i am happy to have a site to turn to if i do have any questions. I am guessing she will come out of her shell after a few weeks, and i can share some stories with you all. I am loving reading your stories though! |

Aw, Bailey is a darling! You will have such fun with her...I am glad that you know to give her time to adjust...she will be learning so many new things and they are bound to frighten her a bit...but she will come around, so long as you love her and are patient with her, and it sounds as if you will be!
She may be afraid of things you don't think of...like stairs, television, children's toys, cars... Best wishes, and congratulations! |

Re: Bailey, 6 month old Doodle!
by Teena » Mon Jul 27, 2009 6:00 pm Thank you everyone for your nice welcome!! I am very excited to share Bailey with you! I have seen some conversations on Google, and a lot of people seem to be against Labradoodle's?? I am finding noone in Australia has an issue with them though, mainly America? Can anyone help me out with this?? I dont really understand!? My partner and i had a scare yesterday with Bailey! We took her out with a dog walker, and 2 other puppies, and went off lead which was fun for her, but she doesnt seem to have much energy as yet, again, i am guessing that its because of her still adjusting?, but at the end of the walk, we noticed blood running doen her nose! The walker said that it was probably brain related because of her Staf infection as a pup, so we rushed her to the Vet! The vet took one look at her and said she had just poked herself in the nose with a stick! The poor little baby!!! She didnt even yelp!! My partner and i are finding she only listens when she wants to, so training is difficult, but i do know that its all about consistency!! We are starting her up at obedience school, so hopefully that will help her socialisation? Chat soon gang!! Teena (here is Bailey giving me the typical "What you talking bout" face!) haha |
