I am Millies grammie, and I love her dearly. I am the main caretaker from 7:15 AM, until Michelle gets home at 4PM. After that we share duties. Millie is the first big dog we have ever had and it takes some getting used to. She is making me a much better housekeeper for sure. I just can't believe she can reach some of the things she does on my kitchen counters. It really wasn't Millies fault that she broke the sugar bowl. Someone, like 16 year old granddaughter maybe, left it within three feet of the edge of the counter
Sophie, the nine year old Bichon only tolerates Millie. Diva that she is, she doesn't play with new underlings. Maggie, the little Schnauzer, has just given up and lets Millie lick her in the face. However, she doesn't play with her. Then there is LOLA! My three year old mineature poodle that loves Millie. When Millie came Lola weighed a whopping 18.8 pounds, yesterday at the vet, she weighed 14.8. It's all that playing she does with Millie. However, the vet did say that Millie has to quit pulling out the hair on Lolas ears. It is getting pretty thin. It is so funny to see them playing. Lola fits underneath Millie with room to spare, but she can take her down in a split second if things get to rough. A fru fru poodle she is not! Personality plus, rough and tumble, lovable little doll, that's Lola. I have been lurking on the forum since before we got Millie, and thought it was time I joined as well as Millie's Mom. We have learned so much from the forum! My only complaint is that I am losing SLEEP. Every night I get on and read the stories. I started with the very last ones, and am now down to page 50. Love the stories and the post. Millie just brought me my bra, must be time to get dressed.LOL Until next time, |

Welcome Millies Grammie! I loved your intro.!!! One thing you might think of is keep the bacon out of reach. We would be here all day if we listed everything to move out of reach in the kitchen alone!

NOTE to Millies GRAMMIE: you will ALSO be totally AMAZED at LOLA's snake like swallowing abilities
IF youuuuuuuuuu dont' hide PANTYHOSE, SOCKS, and Paper towels pantyhose and kitchen dish towels can COME BACK UP and keep a doodle inactive for hours afterwards as that type of death defying act wears the heck out of MAX!!! (yes i said a kitchen dish towel ...we almost framed it)

Hi again, Millies Grammie...I do laugh with these posts...but I think it is also important to note that dogs eating things can be very dangerous...and that they don't always throw them up...sometimes a dog will die when they ingest socks or towels or panties...so, even though we are able to laugh (because we have all been there, and we are lucky to have our dogs be able to deal with it) it is also something that every one of us will tell you is not a good thing...so, when possible, keep in mind that Millie WILL eat things she shouldn't...so it is up the the human family to make sure that dangerous things and objects are not in her reach.
Now, caution and warning over...back to the happy laughter... |
