Can I assume from your name that you're from Hoboken NJ? We live in Monmouth county - Hoboken is a very fun place

You'll learn tons about what you need, food, crate training, etc. One of the most important things for mine was introducing them to as MUCH as possible in the first few months that I had them. Men with beards, people with hats on, babies, kids of all ages, other dogs of all shapes/sizes. The more they're exposed to early on, the less trouble you'll have down the road with fears of people/dogs/objecst. Have fun...he's a doll!
I couldn't agree more with this statement. We worked very hard to expose Yankee to anything and everything when he was a pup. He's nearly two now and has tons of confidence and adapts to any situation/setting. Think about all the things you like to do and want to be able to do and include those in your training. For instance, we travel quite a bit (both with and without Yankee) so we practiced riding in the car, overnights with the "grandparents", being comfortable in different surroundings, etc. We also wanted him to get along well with other dogs so he went to puppy kindergarten and obedience school and spend some days in doggy daycare. There were some good websites that talked about the different developmental stages a puppy goes through-including "fear stages" and how to expose your pup to new things during that time.
Have fun. I've attached baby and grown up Yankee pictures. Dianne3rd day home.JPG[/attachment:2jke3tsn]aug 08 pier and pot comparision pic.JPG[/attachment:2jke3tsn]
