Default Re: Size of Goldendoodle or Labradoodle Vs temperament

I breed both, Labradoodles and Goldendoodles (and I plan to breed North American Retrievers, I have breed one litter and they are great...they are Goldendoodle and Labradoodle cross.)

I breed standard sized dogs because we provide service dogs...and I will agree with the others that it isn't the size that determines temperament...it is the breeder! If the breeder carefully selects the parent dogs based on temperament, among other things, and if the breeder stimulates the puppies and socializes the puppies to human contact and exposes the puppies to as many experiences and sounds as possible, the pup will have the best possible chance to be an excellent dog...BUT it goes further...you are the next important factor.

You have to be committed to proper socialization and training. You need to teach your dog and your family how to be a unit and respect one another. If the puppy is respected and protected, you will likely get an adult dog that is respectful and loving toward your family and visitors.

Best wishes to you in your search....sounds like you are ready to make a commitment. Doodles are great dogs...but there is no substitution for good breeding and proper rearing of the puppy!
