the mini doodles i've met appear to have same personalities and traits as the bigger standard doodles i know.

I say choose either Labradoodle or Goldendoodle based on breeder and then temperament you want (aka type of personality in a dog).
also which do you like better golden retrievers or labrador retrievers? or doesn't it matter? as if it does then lean towards that kind of doodle
if you're looking at the F1 generations meaning retriever crossed with poodle.

I have one of each Max f1 LD and Peanut a f1 GD.

and size? depending on structure and height , 2 dogs same weight can look totally different in size depending of they are
more of poodle or retreiver build and then their height. Peanut my cream GD is only 23in tall and 60lb but build like a tank, broad
not skinny when wet and when her coat is not clipped down she looks more like 90lbs than her 60lb weight hahaaaaaaaaaa

I went for the more laid back, easy going and more submissive(not dominant) personalities as i figured i'd be living with them
for the next 10 to 15years and they're the best dogs i've ever had and soooo sweet lovign and comical
