We had a fun day!

It started out great - today was a vacation day for us so we got to sleep in late. Then we realized it was 65 degrees and sunny out (I don't know where this weather came from, but I won't complain) so we all took a ride to the beach

Dex and Kirby ran around like lunatics (unfortunately it had to be on leash). It was a lot more windy at the beach than here, but still wonderful for winter. We were told about this really good hot dog stand there and had some yummy hot dogs (only for the humans though). Then Dex and Kirby got some extra playtime outside and are now passed out

This sure beats going to work. The fact we picked this as a vacation day a month ago and it happens to be the warmest day in 2 months was some extra good luck!!

Sounds like fun. I'm craving a hotdog now...

We had a warm weekend too, but along with that came mud and water....what a mess that was...

What a great day!! Too bad they couldn't be off leash. Are you restricted to certain beaches as well or since it is off season do the dogs get to go wherever?

Technically, all beaches in NJ require leashes, however, you often see dogs off leash. The beach we went to today wasn't very wide and I fear that a curious doodle could get into trouble if he wanders too far (the highway is right next to the beach).

When we go to this other beach that is very undeveloped, we'll let Dex (and sometimes Kirby) off leash - it's a far way to the road.

you really did have a GREAT vacation day all the way around!!!!
it was 54 here but rainy/windy which i'll take compared to colder temps earlier in week

no I was bad - no camera

hehe...Kirby discovered ocean foam today and was chasing/pouncing on it - it was too cute and funny.

P.S. I wonder what the ocean temp was? Dex marched right into it like he does in the summer...he would have kept going in even further if the leash was longer

I know - It is still 60 here, but I just heard that tomorrow night it will drop to 30 and we could have snow...such odd weather!

What! No Pictures!!
Would have loved to see the doodles playing with the foam. Lucee discovered the foam the last time we went.
The cold water temps don't seem to worry the dogs. No matter what time of the year we go to the beach, there is always a dog out swimming.

Sounds like a great day. Although I can't believe you forgot your camera. Don't you know by now that cameras are a must at all times!!!
