Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to share some good news for once! Manchego had a follow-up visit on Friday for blood work and urine. Just a quick update. He had been to the emergency vet 2x in the past 3 weeks! First time for a high heart rate that we didn't ever figure out the cause of and second time I had a family member visiting and when we went out for a few hours he chewed through her travel bag which had been put away and zipped up and got into her vitamins and medications and ODed and had to spend 24 hrs on IV fluids Anyway...thankfully that is all over with!! We got his follow-up results and his urine which had had small amts of protein in it 2x before is back to normal AND his bloodwork had shown elevated monocite levels which are white blood cells that indicate some sort of long-term inflamation (probably related to his extended swollen lymph nodes). Well they are half what they were before which is almost back to normal AND his lymph nodes are almost all the way down now. (thanks to homeopathic meds). Yipee!! And I just wanted to say how thankful I am to have such a wonderful community on here. It really is wonderful to have a place to vent/share/blab about my doodles. I think my family and friends might grow tired of hearing about my dogs soon! Cheers, Sarah

That's great news! We just went through a similar crisis with Carol's daughter's dog so I know the stress of it. It's amazing how these dogs will find these poisonous things they eat. Ozzie hasn't eaten anything he shouldn't (yet), but I make it a regular routine to scan the house for anything that may look tempting, before leaving the house.

Yea, from here on out all of my guests item's will be put behind closed doors when I leave the house! I think he was after the fish oil pills that were in the bag and just happened to get into the weekly pill divider and eat others on accident.
As far as the homeopathic meds... we first treated him with Graphites which helped his behavior but not so much his lymph nodes and the last was Conium which has helped bring the lymph nodes down. I can't believe how well this worked and I wish I had done it sooner! Sarah

Just wanted to post this for anyone who is interested. While I have a vet that perscribed my homeopathic remedies I do find this site very useful for doing research.
