Calender Dood Headed for Catalog!!!
It has been just a busy time for Marley news the past couple of days. Yesterday I got an email from our breeder, thanking us for the Doodle calendar she received. Made her day she said. In responding to the email, I also included a couple of updated pics. She is putting one of them on her web site she liked it so much. It’s fun to see all the labradoodles she has sold and the pics she gets from happy Dood owners.
Last week, Kathy was showing some people at work the Doodle calendar. One of the persons who caught a look was the person who lays out the catalogs for her company. The ever present green ball in Marley’s mouth is called the “TurnUp Ball” and the company sells them online and in their catalog. She asked if we had any other shots of Marley with the ball. Kathy said yes, we may have, ahem, one or two. So she went into work yesterday, with a CD with about 40 pics that I picked out. That evening she brought home a proof of the add that will be in next month’s women’s catalog.!!! This is the pic they used.  Naturally I asked, tongue in cheek, that as the photographer and owner/agent of Marley, who I should be discussing compensation with. With Marley’s mug pushing these balls, sales should sky rocket. I am thinking 10% of sales for the first three months after the catalog is out would be a good starting point for negotiations. Then I left work, and picked up Marley at the day care place. I was sharing the news with him on the way home, when I caught a glance at Marley’s report card at a red light. Seems for some inexplicable reason Marley found another dog’s poop rather irresistible during the day. That brought me back down to earth and let me remember Marley is a dog with own unique set of foibles. Calendars, web site and catalog appearances are great, but stardom is not necessarily in future. But I will love him just the same.

Greg.....even the biggest of celebrities have skeletons in their closet!! Let us know when and where the add runs......we nay need a copy!! Pawtographed, of course!!

Yay, another famous doodle on our forum!
Thanks for the laugh over the story of coming back down to earth when Marley reminded you that he's still a dog. Get some rest from all that snow shoveling. We hunkered down here today with lots of rain.

 Yikes!!!! I can thank my lucky stars that I don't get one... Yer pal, Raleigh!  P.S. Mommy says Congratulations on your new job!!! And she'd love to see you in the catalog if possible when it comes out!!!

Love the story, love the photo! Well done Marley!
I love how Kathy said you may one or two photos! If it's anything like this house we are bury under doodle photos. My kids actually complained that there are more photos around the house of Lucee and Rusty than there are of them

Hey Marley... Manchego wanted me to tell you that he thinks you are entitled to a poop or two every once in a while since you are a working dog now! He said he doesn't understand why his mom and dad get angry every time he taste tests poo... geeze don't they know that poop is a doggie delicacy?
