I think we all have special, warm moments with not only our Doodles, but with all the dogs in our lives that enrich us!!! Thanks for such a great story Greg.....

[quote="Maddjaxx"]Yesterday just seemed like a long day so I decided to turn in early last night. Marley and I took one last walk for the day, to take care of business and went to bed about 9:30. Marley followed me upstairs, as he usually does. The ritual treat after he gets into the bedroom followed by his joining us in bed to get some loving. Usually he basks in the petting for several minutes, then curls up at the bottom of the bed for a half hour or so, then heads to his bed on the floor in the room.
Tonight the routine was broken. Tuesday is a day care day so he usually is very mellow on these nights. Often his activity during the night is moving from one spot to another to continue his marathon nap. After jumping on the bed and getting his petting, he put his head on my stomach and just passed out. He laid there for about hour, until I had to move my position or risk paralysis. I was as warm and comfortable as he appeared to be. And if that feeling and smile on my face could be transferred to power, I could have lit the holiday lights on the house. An occasional pet resulted in a moan of thanks, which he often does. To me there is not a comparable feeling in the world. As a puppy, these moments happened often. Then he grew up and with the few short months passing, his independence grew and these moments disappeared. It’s nice to know he still finds comfort and trust in lying with/on me as he dozes off. Now, as he approaches 20 months of age, his personality continually but subtlety changes. Not sure what the final product will be, but I am hoping moments like last night will be in his routine. BEAUTIFUL, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!

What a lovely moment... It really does let you know that all is right in the world. I am so grateful for my dogs every single day. Those moments are what makes my life worth while.

Yes!!!! After my second day back at work, I came home and sat on the couch. Semi came over and sort of "collapsed" against me and let out a huge sigh. It was like she was not only glad to see me, but relieved that I was back and she could lay down her worries. Dogs are the BEST!

I think doodles "snuggliness" is one of the best things about them. Hagrid spend three hours on Friday night actually asleep in my lap.. and on Peter's head! It's so cozy and happy and positive to have a snuggle bug doodle!
