Might I suggest checking your dog treats before feeding your dogs....
The other day, my girlfriend went to winners to pick up a few things. While she was there she picked up some organic dog treats they had for Layla. She came home and gave Layla one before putting them in her "cookie jar". A few minutes later I hear "ewwwwwwww what is that" from the kitchen so I go look. Sure enough, there was a moggot crawling on the cookie jar. We opened it, there was a couple more. So we looked inside the treat box that they came in, which had a SEALED plastic bag inside, and there were a couple in there. That is so gross. My girlfriend felt sooo bad, like she had fed Layla maggots. She said sorry to her like 100 times, but I really don't think she ate them. The funny thing was, we went back to the store with the receipt, and they almost weren't going to give us our money back. They wanted the box, which we had thrown out, obviously. I asked if they seriously wanted me to go home, dig in my trash and get a box of maggots and put them on their counter....we got our money back. I have the info of what kind of treats these were and plan to write the company. I will post it on here as soon as I have the info (don't have it with me). Just thought I'd share this interesting but gross story. I don't think Layla ate any maggots. I'm sure my gf would have freaked if one was in her hand. They sure are disgusting little things tho. |
