Default The Intruder

Charlie had been lounging in his backyard enjoying some sun when suddenly he rushed up on the porch barking frantically. I went out to see what the problem was and noticed he was totally focused on something in the yard. At first it was hard to see what had riled him up but then I saw it... a CAT! This black cat was sitting in Charlie's flowerbed along Charlie's fence and not the least bit concerned about trespassing.

Who knew Charlie was totally spineless! I know he is afraid of wagons and various lawn ornaments but, geez, I thought he could at least chase a CAT!

Charlie's no dummy Deb!!!!! I'm sure he knows:

#1 That it’s bad luck if a black cat crosses your path...

#2 That if it stops and turns from you - a serious misfortune is about to befall upon you...

#3 That you should take 13 steps back to reverse any resulting bad luck...

Charlie chose #3, and ran 13 steps FORWARD...because that's what Doodles do ya know?
Great story Deb!!

OR prehaps we should put aside superstitions

CATS have very sharp claws and maybe CHARLIE
saw what happened to Raliegh's face recently

Yep I think Charlie saw those needles on the end of the cat's paws and was smart enough to stay out of reach.

There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity and Charlie wasn't taking any chances.

You are all so right. Cats ARE scary! Charlie is going to have to work on his macho image though.

Lucee and Rusty think Charlie is very smart!!
They live with three cats and know it's is best to walk (or run) away.
Cats have those nasty sharp things in their feet and in their mouth!!

Maybe Charlie is allergic to cats? I knew I avoid them at all costs, too....

I think Daisy told him about the cats she met at the vet's office today. One of them only had 3 legs, how harmful can that be? Um, that's still like 15 sharp things. Ask how she knows.

lol how does she know?

But, in addition.... Napa did this last weekend. In the middle of the night Napa barked the biggest and scariest bark I've ever heard him bark!!! Now, mind you, he destroyed the shades that cover the door window so, he could see outside onto the porch. He kept barking and growling when finally I saw a BLACK CAT.... I was thinking I was going to see foot prints--- we live on the bottom floor. But then the cat came and sat AT OUR BACK DOOR!!!!

So, Napa also says that cats are scary, and when they come onto your territory, to bark your heads off and look dumb!

Black cats spooky as can be
Dogs can sense what we can't see

Halloween is round the bend
Dogs are known as mans best friend

Let him guide you in this realm
You'll be safe with him at helm'

Leave the black cat all alone
Give Charlie a big fat bone!

Don't worry about your dog being afraid of a cat. Most cats are dominant over most dogs, they just give off that "I am absolutely the boss" energy and dogs can sense that! My little 8 pound black cat is definitely the boss over my huge doodle!
