Talk about raining cats and dogs.....I think i saw a few elephants coming down today
anyway no pics this time as I look like a drowned rat since 8am. Max and Peanut finally learned GO PEE (NOW) in the downpour cause it ain't letting up. well i should say they peed but NO POOP yet and it's 8pm hahhaa anyone else have doodles that in pouring rain don't want to poop? this is nuts. (pee is quicker possibly)

Finn had no interest in pooping this morning in the heavy rain and he is the King of Poop! He usually rations it so he can spread it around the yard. A little here, a couple minutes later a little there, a few more minutes later, some there... Finally this evening on our walk in the mist he did the deed.
I used to have to lock my lab out in the backyard to get her to pee or poop if it was raining. The princess HATED to get her paws wet. Or any part of her for that matter! LOL! She never retrieved either. Don't think she knew she was a lab. Pringle, my cattle dog mix is like the US Postal Service, nothing stops him! Not rain, sleet, snow, the dark of night....

We are totally getting it too. Made me realize how spoiled we've been - I can't remember the last work day where we couldn't let the boys play outside when we got home. They wound up doing many doodle 500s through the house instead
We're getting more rain today than from the tropical storm last weekend. oh P.S. our doodles love the rain and have no problem going out in it. The main problem is that Kirby keeps wanting to go out and he's a drown rat! We don't dare let Dex off leash - his fluffy white doodle butt would be filthy in 2 minutes.

Cali doesn't like going potty in the rain either. I have a plan for Cali with the high winds and rain we will have for an extended period that would prevent us from going outside. I took an oil pan/tray that's about 2' X 3' and covered it with sod that I dug up in the yard. I will have it indoors. Hopefully she will use it if it's too dangerous to go outside and she's desperate. She is quite a camel, but there is a limit....Wish us luck! The winds are picking up now, but no rain yet.

Sadie loves being wet so the rain doesn't bother her. I was out with an umbrella and had her on a leash so we could go in as soon as she was done but she woudln't go. Finally I went in and left her out (yard is fenced) and watched through the window. After checking every new smell in the yard from the rain and of course, running through the bushes several times she came to the door and sat looking at it to be left in. Luckily she likes being rubbed dry with the towel and her coat dries really fast and NO wet dog smell.

Calimom, stay safe!!
Semi loves the rain. Goes to the bathroom, rolls on the ground, plays in the puddles. She does not care! I swear I looked like a drowned rat most of this week. It has rained for three days straight. On the bright side, our part of NC is no longer in a drought!!

Susan....I laughed so hard at your description of Finn depositing a little here and a little there!!! Coco will do the same thing sometimes!! If she just left one pile, it would be much easier to find and clean up!!
Both my girls will hesitantly go in the rain....most of the time...quickly. But on some days those smells and the wind and who knows what, they just stand out there. Calimom, will you have flooding in the Woodlands?? I know wind and tons of rain....but will you flood? I pray not! Good idea about the sod in a pan!! Let us know if she uses it!! Be careful and watchful.....too late to leave, huh? Praying for you all.

Bailey doesn't like to go pee or poop in the rain and will only go if I go out with him.
Prayers for those who are dealing with Ike or have familyfriends in it's path.

Thanks everyone! Jane, we shouldn't have flooding here. We're not in a low area. It's not even raining yet since Ike is still 50 miles offshore. The outer rain bands haven't hit us yet, just the wind which is gusting quite a bit.

Daisy would play catch in a tsunami, but Dex has to be literally dragged out. Then he stands under the eaves looking insulted, and will poop in the lava rock as a last resort. I've seen him hold it so long during an extended storm, that he gets grumpy and mopes on the couch. I guess his tummy hurts
