Our backyard is totally flooded. It rained all night and pretty hard. Charlie would not go out by himself this morning. I had to put on a raincoat and walk into the yard with him. I showed him the one small patch that had less than an inch of water. Who knows when he'll poop.

Paulie appears to be slightly intrigued by the rain, but generally doesn't seem to really like water. Go figure?
At any rate, we are waiting for a lull in the downpour for him to go out for a walk, I will bring a golf umbrella I suppose.
As a young pup I attempted to train Paulie to go in a designated spot in our back yard. He would go, but only if someone came with him.
Now (at 10 months) he is so used to our daily walking, that I think it is his preferred method.
Good for the yard, but it's nice to be able to just open the back door to let him out - that's what we were able to do with our dear old lab/boxer.

Our thoughts are with all of you in Ike's path.

Default Rainy days

Bella seems to care less whether it is raining or not. She will do her business, but wants to play a bit as well. The last time I took her out she layed down in the grass and started rolling around and did not want to go back inside. I looked at it from the aspect that she needed her time outside, rain or not. Sure I got wet, but after a towel and a change of clothes I was dry again.

I would rather go thru this than to discourage her housetraining habits and make her feel I am rushing her to get back inside.

Denver refuses to go out in the yard if it is raining.
But ask this dog to go for a walk in a monsoon and he will run to the front door, no matter how bad the weather is outside...........
bahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa go figure huh?
