Default Update on Tyke

Got a call from my mom as I was on my way to court this afternoon (from one job to another!). SHE FOUND THE EARRING BACK!!! After crawling around on the floor of my room, like I did, BaBa decided to get out the dustbuster vacuum cleaner. She sucked it up nowhwere NEAR where I finally caught Tyke with the earring - either Tyke was carting it aroud while I was in the shower, or it shot off the end of the post when she bit the earring (she did bend the post pretty badly!) I'm just so glad we found it and know for sure she didn't swallow it! She's taken a couple of years off of our lives today, for sure!!

Living with Dexter...we learned that anything smaller than 2x2 inches will come out easily...any soft toys/socks will come out one end or another. It's only when your dog swallows large objects that do not easily bend that you're in trouble.

Glad she didn't eat it, but I wouldn't even give a 2nd thought to something that small

Thanks, Leslie - Although I'm sorry Dexter has made you an expert at swallowed objects, I'm awfully glad to hear that from someone who has experienced it!!

I'm actually in the process of talking to many trainers - I want to have someone come to our house to work on 1) barking at peeps walking by and 2) Dexter stealing and eathing things. If we can stop the stealing, we should stop the eating

Leslie, if you can find a miracle worker to stop the kleptomania, PLEASE share the info you get from him or her! Tyke is terrible about it, and getting worse now that she is taller - she is a terrible counter and tabletop surfer! And she tends to want to eat what she finds!!!!

haha...I seriously think the swallowing stuff if a lost cause. Now if we can train him to not touch things that don't belong to him maybe there's hope I have to interview another trainer, but I really really liked the girl I spoke to last night. The cost seems a little high, but not outrageous and her credentials appear impressive...I'll let you know Sorry I totally hijacked your "Tyke didn't eat the earing" post

Not a problem - we wouldn't have thought Tyke had eaten the earring if she wasn't a THIEF!!! I guess we were made for each other - she certainly needs to keep an attorney around!!!

Benson bit both the ears off of a squeaky toy - the cat picture below:

I found one under the dining room table and the other this morning in Ben's poop. I recognized it right away. LOL!

Honestly, I wasn't even worried about it. I only get anxious about something big or sharp.

You're so right, Deb...I'd probably horrified if I knew all the things Tyke has probably swallowed!
