Default Life's full of surprises! Not all good.

I noticed Jessie has what looks like a surgical scar on her back leg. Nothing was said about this when I was buying her... and her coat covers it well unless you're looking at her from just the right angle.
So I had her in for my vets opinion and learned she has a steel rod in her leg to repair a femur fracture!.

So I contacted the person I bought her from and learned she'd been run over by a motorbike as a young pup and did have surgery to repair it. They insisted it "didn't bother her once it healed so didn't seem worth mentioning."

I'd been on the fence with her as a breeder already, since she's more hyper than I like to see in my breeders. She's also only 16 months old, so I thought I'd give her a bit more time to settle down and see how she turns out. So this just made my decision for me. No way I'm going to keep her another year just to find out she doesn't test out good on hip X-rays.

I have a nice family that's been talking to me about wanting a family pet, so gave them a call and they've agreed to take her. She will be picked up on Saturday.

So I'll be back down to 4 dams and Chip. Seems I keep taking 2 steps forward and one step back. Argggggggggggggg

Tink....as my Mom used to say....."Sometimes if it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all"
Sorry it didn't work out. The future holds bright things for you though, I'm sure!

Not worth mentioning Lucky you noticed that scar! I guess you should have a vet check out any prospects before you buy from now on to CYA!

Jeeze, Tink...you have had some tough challenges!
I am glad that you found out and that you had an alternative plan for her. I agree that if you had misgivings about her temperament, you were wise to move forward without her in your program. This business is tough enough without things like this! Good luck...you will find the right female, I just know it.
