Default An unexpected, yet welcome bonus, of my mini doodle pup

First of all, thanks to all of you veteran Doodle owners for your posts. I'm a new puppy mom and have learned a lot in the last month from reading your experiences with and advise about your Doodles.

We used to be plagued with moles in our one acre of ground. Every year they'd be back, leaving those unsightly dirt hills in different areas of the yard. We'd stomp them down, but they'd be back up in a day or two. We tried everything to get rid of them, from the poison pellets, to traps, to putting Juicy Fruit chewing gum down in the runs, but they just laughed at us and tore up our yard all the more.

We got Linus in mid-July, and about a week after bringing him home, I realized that I hadn't seen any new mole hills. I asked my husband if he had been stomping them down, and he said he hadn't. We've had Linus for five weeks now, and have not seen one fresh mole hill. I'm thinking all the sniffing and snooping and peeing and pooping in the yard have sent the moles packing.

My husband said if he'd known that's all it took to get rid of moles, he would have peed in the yard a long time ago....

If they should come back, get those small windmills that you can find at co-op or Tractor Supply Company. The vibration in the ground keeps the moles away. They have really worked for us.

ROFL SykoSofie... tell your dh some jobs are better left to a dog. The neighbors might look at him funny if he goes out and starts lifting HIS leg!

Nice to meet you and good boy LINUS

another way to get rid of moles: plant on its side a Crown Imperial bulb
it's good for almost a 200ft radius
