Default Dog Parks ROCK!!!

This makes me want to print in green!!!

I have NEVER been to a Dog Park! Yesterday was my first time EVER with any of my dogs!!

I'm going to sound like a real FLAKE here but I am so emotional over this!
Dogs are meant to run free! Watching Bogart RUN and PLAY with his ears flying in the air was just too thrilling!!
I wish I had my camera and that I could have recorded it in slow motion. BEAUTIFUL!
We are addicted now!!

Also, I got to learn more of Bogart's almost 11 month personality. He is so gentle and kind and such a leader!! He plays well with any size or disposition of dog.
One thing I found so cool was there was an Irish Setter barking his brains out.
Bogie was trying to calm him down and keep him from barking at the other dogs.
He was coming up on his side and sort of nipping lightly at the ear and neck. Not playing, but sort of parenting??

Now I get why everyone loves it!!! WOOHOO!!
Thanks for letting me share!!
BTW.............he came when called from way across the park!!!!

Heather,
You are soo right! I was a tad nervous.
Another thing.....water! I brought my collapsible dog dish and bottled water, but Bogie kept running over to the buckets and drinking out of those before I could get to him.
YUCK!!! Slimy garbage water!! I hope all those dogs were healthy!!

hehe...ours are the same way. They love to drink out of the huge buckets...the crap they eat I figure some gross water won't hurt them

We have been going to dogs parks as soon as we thought Marley was old enough. He loves the interaction with other dogs and, you are so right Lindamarie, they just love to run free!!! Marley goes nuts in the car and can't wait to get out and play as soon as we get near the park. I share in your excitement. Fortunately, have only run across one or two weirdos that try to spoil it for others with their ignorance. The vast majority are happy to be there and want a good, safe time for themselves and their dog. We love going.

I have wanted to take Layla to the dog park, but in my area have heard to many bad stories about dog bites.
There was a lady in the paper a couple months back with a picture of her dog all stitched up. Really scared me away from taking Layla. She's such a passive dog, not sure what she'd do.
She plays great with all of my friends dogs, but just not sure how she'd handle an aggressive dog. Maybe one day I'll get up the nerve to try it.

I am at a dog park at least every day. I couldn't live without them. There are 5 parks in my 10 mile radius alone!Although I have had some bad experiences with certain "goofballs" (to put it mildly)... the good has always outweighed the bad. I always have tired doodles in the eve!! This article was in the news here lately and has put me on guard... very sad http://www.channel3000.com/news/17196542/detail.html

Maybe I should not have posted this article on such a feelgood ,positive thread.. but if anything it may make you MORE aware of your surroundings while having a great time with your doods. The idiots of the world arent going anywhere so we will have to learn to live with them...

My the way the missing dog is home now.. safe and sound...

Yeah Bogie!!!! Aren't the parks fun??? We've got one about 3 miles from home and it cracks me up when a new dog arrives at the gate, and it's a mad rush from all the other dogs to see who's coming!!!

That is horrible, Mike!! Don't think thoughts like this didn't enter my brain!!
In fact, today, I was telling my husband that we lucked out and had a good experience...........But, will it always be like that?

Well, tomorrow we go to my brother's for dinner and Bogart can run free on his property with Samson...........his poodle cousin.........hahahaha!!

Glad to hear you guys LIKE the Parks!!! We need more around here!!

Linda- I'm glad I didn't ruin your dog park "fuzzies". I'm obviously a big-time user of them!
