My Mom and Dad took me for our usual walk
tonight and on the way home a dog that I know attacked me.................. He is as big as me and is a chow chow mix........... Anyway he attacked and my Dad dropped my leash cause him and Mom have talked about this and decided that if it ever happened that they should drop the leash so I could defend myself. Anyway I did not cower like My Mom was worried that I might do infact I went on the attack and showed this dog that he better not mess with me and besides he was too close to my Mom and I stepped up...... Well I tell you that my Mom and Dad were so impressed and no longer have any doubt about whether I would protect myself and them cause I showed that dog that you better not mess with me.... When we got home I was given a cookie and My Mom and Dad keep kissing me and telling me what a good boy I am sheesh....did they think I would not fight back, I am not a baby anymore by Denver I was so proud of my boy and scared at the same time but Denver totally took controll and I have never seen him show so much aggression......... Both dogs are fine and the Chow mix definately will think twice before ever doing that again to Denver............ My hubby and I are still in shock because we have always believed that Denver would back down since he is such a mild mannered dog but I tell you he was in protective mode and very fierce and it was a shock.................. |

SUE i am glad that NO one was hurt
and YES Denver has it in him to defend himself as well as you and your hubby. ((((((((((denver))))))))))))))) you're growing up and did a good job tonight even though it scared mom quite a bit. SUE i have no doubt in my mind how protective our doodles can be in times of possible danger especially as they mature. It makes sense to as we all talk about how close we are and bonded with our doodles. once again sorry you had a scare but also learned something new about Denver.

from my boy tonight..... Not in a million years would I have believed that Denver would be so aggressive like that and although I am shocked by the event I am also relieved that he defended himself........ Yikes!!!! he taught me something tonight that is for sure........... |

Wow well done Denver! Good Boy for protecting your mum.
There must be something in the air, while we were walking the dogs this morning, a Border Collie came flying over the hill with his owner in hot pursuit. Rusty who is still very puppish (is that a word??) was ready for a play. The Border Collie just wanted to rip Rusty apart. Luckily the owner caught up and stomped on his lead. Rusty just stood there like a stunned mullet. You could see him wondering, what was wrong with that dog???

Oh, what was that silly dog thinking, trying to scare our Denver that way?
I'm glad neither of you were hurt, but awfully proud of Tyke's hero! (I bet she wishes he had been at the dog park with her yesterday! All the dogs were friendly, but she could have used a "Big Buddy" with her!) You 'da MAN, Denver!!!!!

I'm so glad Denver is ok!
It is scary when something like this happens, but very reassuring when they prove they can take care of themselves too.

WOOHOO DENVER!! Good BOY!!!
I have always had this fear in me too as to what Bogart will do. We have often talked about how we think he'll just cower. Hoepefully, he'll have Denver's spirit and fight and protect!! Me? I would've been cowering behind a car somewhere!! Good job on mom and dad's part too!! Dropping the leash was a good thing and not freaking out too!!

thinking I would get in between because the Chow went right for Denver's neck, but Denver was so quick and bared his teeth and made these snarling noises at the Chow that I did not even know Denver could make and lunged at the Chow and then it was over as the owner grabbed his dog and was so upset that his dog did this................but I think his dog may have learned a good lesson here too..........We have met this dog many times with no problem but I did notice that the Chow growled once in the past at Denver and that was it ........so it was quite a surprise yet in "doggy world" maybe leading up to this and I guess the Chow decided to test Denver......I think he won't the next time.......... |

WOW! Thank goodness everyone is okay. Good going, Denver!!
I can not imaging how frightening that must have been. Chows are powerful dogs and a big one like that must have been really scary. Good idea about dropping the leash. That way, Denver had the option of running if he needed to. We took Semi out yesterday and a man with two schnauzers was walking down the street. I know they are not well socialized so I kept Semi away from them, but they went nuts anyway and were growling and barking at her. Semi cowered behind me. It scares me to think of the damage one of them could do. They may be small, but they are all muscle. Glad you guys are alright!!
