Hickory is taking giant steps!

On the continuing saga of Hickory...

Hickory was in heat and I'm hoping is bred. In the past week she is making giant steps in her battle to overcome her fears and become a normal, healthy Lab. She now will stay outside when there's a man in the yard... where she used to hide in the back corner of the dog house and cower.

She's right with the others now to greet me and get her head scratched when I enter the exercise run.

She's decided SHE is top dog in our little pack. In spite of the fact that Ava is considerably bigger and stronger Hickory has now challenged Ava and become queen of the dogs. She's eating first, gets her treat first, and she is the one now to start sounding the alarm when the neighbors dogs come visiting.

I about fainted when Ava walked to the food dish to nibble while Hickory was eating and decided to turn away when Hickory snarled at her.

Any other time it's been Ava who made the rules.

I am SO happy for her to have come this far. I'm really proud of her!
