Default My woosie doodle comes through!

Cinnamon is a woos. I thought that until this week.

A friend of ours, that works for my DH, has a boy that just graduated from HS. He's not looking to go to college and he's jobless. His mom kicked him out when he was no longer getting child support, so he moved in with his dad. He's getting pretty desperate for a job, so we hired him and a friend to paint our detached garage.

The first day, Cinnamon greeted them with her usual wiggle butt. I tell them to feel free to use the rest room (located just inside the back door) or get a drink from the fridge (just past the RR, just inside the back door). He's been here before and knows kitchen area, anyway. I don't think he's been past the kitchen, but I regress... I have work to do, so I leave him and his friend to start the job. I figure I'll just take a break every once in a while to check on the progress.

Things are going good, they are doing a good job, kind of slow, but a good job. I go "off to work."

I'm working when I hear a low growl followed by loud barking and more growls. I run upstairs to see our friend's boy outside the back door afraid to come in (to use the RR). She won't let him in! I never thought she would act this way.

I'm so proud!!! Who knew???

The boys knock now. So funny!!

Good girl Cinnamon!!! You're protecting your Mommy just like you should!!! Both Raleigh and Molly let me know when a car comes up the driveway! Both are very protective...especially the Doodle!

Good job, Cinn! I wonder if Nicky would do that? I've never heard him growl or bark at a person.

I really don't think Dex has it in him (at all) to growl at someone, unless they were hurting him. Kirby on the other hand - he is somewhat protective of our house so he may have it in him. He will bark at people, but then once they come into the house he's all into getting love and attention.

The thing is, I have no idea when some one comes up the drive to our house because Cin doesn't bark. She'll bark if some one rings the door bell or knocks, but it's the greeting bark, butt wiggling all the while. I haven't heard a mean bark out of her until this week. I've heard her growl at an animal in the yard, but never at a human. It was a new experience for me!

I always wondered if she had it in her, now I know!

We once had a deer hit out in front of our house, police with red lights and the whole 9 yards. Not a peep. Our LR is in the back of our house so we had no clue. She was being quiet so we went to see what she was up to, and lo and behold, we had quite a bit of activity just down the drive. She was sitting there just watching it, not a sound.

I guess she's smart enough to know when it's appropriate to let me know some one is intruding. Either that or it's an animal in the yard.

The other day my DH was walking around with a jacket and hood on.
Little Remy did not like that hooded monster in the yard and was barking and growling. He was so cute. When DH came in we showed Remy that it was only daddy and he adjusted.

But that was so cute. Showing his protective side.

Good for you Cin. Ollie growled at the thunder and lightning last night. That was odd, first time he's done that. He sat on my bed, looked out the window at the lightning show and then everytime it thundered (low rumbling thunder not the big boomers) he would growl. Weird?

Go Cinnamon!

I had a similar thing happen recently. My friend Kyle came over to color my hair. We joke back and forth all the time. So we're out on my closed in porch and he's applying color, and Dexter is laying at our feet. Kyle is no stylist, and has a horrible bedside manor, and he was pulling my hair something fierce. I thought he was going to pluck me bald. So I was yelping ouch, and he would bop me on the head with the brush and say "shut up *0@$*" Well, one particular time he pulled way too hard, I yelped way too hard, and he bopped a little too hard, and Dexter jumped up and bared his teeth growling! Kyle screamed like a girl and climbed me like a flagpole, LMAO. He said "he's gonna eat me!" I said "he won't if you quit hurting his mommy!"
