This morning Sampson came up on Daddy's bed with my brother and they were petting him and Sampson stuck his paw out to swat at Dady and then army crawled across the bed to give him a big fat kiss!!!
We hope they are going to continue to bond like this... And there is like 30 days until I leave for college... How do I prepare Sam for that? He didn't eat for a whole week when I went to camp?

That is great news! Sounds like Sammy is finally feeling comfortable around your dad!
Going off to school won't be easy for Sammy or you, I'm sure. My mom said my dog would go into my room and cry for the first week or so that I was gone, but she slowly adapted. Maybe this would be a good opportunity for your dad to bond even more with him. He could start feeding Sammy and playing with him while you're still at home, so that he will have someone to help fill the void for him while you're away. It's good that you went off to camp - now Sammy knows that you may go away, but you will come back! Good luck, and hope you will continue to post from school!

I agree - I think (knowing that Sam will definitely miss you) that you maybe start to gradually spend a bit less time with him. Let your parents take more control of his care (or your sibblings if you have any). Let them start feeding him, taking him out, etc while you are still home. I'm not saying to ignore him, but just start working on a transition.
I'm so glad to hear Sammy is bonding w/your dad

I'm in agreement where you start letting your parents take over more of certain responsibilities like feeding him even playing games etc
it hopefully will make the transition easier on Sammy and you and maybe he'll bond more with your dad.

Sounds like both Sam and Dad have worked things out. Just remember to keep those grades up
