Default Our empathetic doodles

i am still amazed at the amount of empathy my doodle shows - i've never experienced anything like it before!

we had a kitty get sick and unfortunately she did not get better

We had her quarantined before the vet visit to make sure it was nothing contagious - and to keep the dog from stressing her out - and Riley went to the basement to check on her every 30 minutes. she would stand at the gate and whine until we brought her down.

after the kitty was gone she still went down to look for her - until we brought her into the room she had been in and showed her the empty blankets.

smart dog, and she knew better than we did that Molly was very sick and was worried about her

Napa showed empathy that I didn't expect. I brought him over with me when I stayed at my Mema's when she had her cataract done. It didn't go smoothly, and she was in a bit of pain, and generally out of it. Napa wouldn't come lay with us (in a sun room that butts up to the den she was sitting in). He wouldn't move from the middle of the den and finally laid down next to her on the floor and wasn't hyper the rest of the night, or for the next few nights! It's really amazing how they know something isn't right! He hasn't even really known Mema more than a few days! Still quite amazing.
