Default Dudley's first road trip!

We made the 3 hour journey to my GF's parent's place this weekend. Dudley attended. Sorry, I didn't get any pics. We rode in my GF's Saturn since it has the 60/40 seats and we haven't gotten a smaller travel kennel for the Dudster yet.

What was usually a 3 hour ride turned into 4 due to a detour and the need to stop and let Dudley get fresh air and a stretch. I was really impressed by the rest stops. Clean, nice snack machines, etc. I'll be stopping there more and gas stations less in my future travels.

He spent the whole ride out there sniffing out the window and trying to decide which side of the car was more interesting to look out of. Once we passed 70mph it was too much wind for his nose so he did more looking and resigned himself to 'indirect sniffing.'

Dudley spent the night at the GF's parent's place and had an interesting time trying to eat some of the 14 little kittens. He didn't really understand why I was unhappy with him when he lunged for those hairy little treats. He actually got his paws on one when I wasn't paying enough attention. No damage was done so it seemed that he was more interested in playing than eating. I didn't want to take any chances with the mama kitty nearby.

He spent a majority of the day in the shade tied to a big tree walking back and forth waiting for one of them to come just a bit too close... The kittens aren't bright but they aren't that stupid either. Dudley almost starved to death! Except for that big bowl of food right there next to him of course.

My GF's mother took him down to the lake while we were off having a couple adult beverages with friends of ours. He isn't quite trusted off leash but she let him wade around and get nice and muddy for us! Nothing that the garden hose couldn't take care of though. He was pretty happy to see us when we stopped by to pick him up on Sunday. After all the adventuring he tried to sleep the entire way home.

Yet another testament to "A tired doodle is a good doodle."
