Thought some of you might be interested to see this article about the Paws Walk last May in Tasmania. The Bartletts are the breeders of Hugo the Boss.

Always love when doodles and their owners do good for others. Thanks for sharing.

We were actually going to go on the walk with our doodles here in Melbourne but it was the worst weather. We chickened out. Very cold and very wet. Felt sorry for the organizers as you can never plan the weather. Maybe next year

Ingrid, shame on you. Fancy letting a bit of foul weather stop you from taking your dogs along on the walk. I want to hear from you next year after you've done your thing and I don't want any excuses about miserable weather.
Now if I spoke to an American like this they'd think badly of me because they are all SO polite, but being an Aussie you'll just take it in your stride '

Look at all those doodles! Great article, thanks for sharing posting it

Well Gene, I've already met up with Annemarie and she's been extra nice to me.
Lyn, I love your explanation and it is food for thought. My last few visits to the US have been to Austin TX where niceness oozes from people. We spent 9 days in NY last November and it was fairly comforting to find a bit of abrasion there. Not that I like people to be rude, but I feel I have to make an extra effort to keep up in Austin. And who wants to make an extra effort when you're on holidays? We've visited San Diego before but didn't have time to get to know the locals as our time was spent with family. Lots of opportunities in the future. We have friends in Grass Valley and have loved the people we met there. An Aussie war bride who owned a fudge shop in Nevada City loaded us up with her product and wouldn't let us pay. How nice is that? My husband worked at the Grand Canyon for a couple of weeks 10 years ago where we were accommodated and treated like royalty. Nice people, really nice people. Ingrid, I hope you are old enough to know about Aunty Jack or my "bloody arms" comment will go right over your head. Finally let me say that as you lot own labradoodles you've got to be worth knowing - even hooligan Annemarie. This is the main beach on Norfolk Island. If there are 6 people there on the weekend we complain about it being crowded.
