Having sold our house and moved last weekend, we are now renting the main floor of a small house located just 3 blocks from the park where the biggest fireworks display in the city was held. Daylong affair with bands, symphony, art festival. Hundreds of cars and people walking by.
When the fire works started, we put our lawn chairs into position to watch the fireworks, put Tanner's halti collar on and had a great time. Tanner watched the people for a few minutes, stood up to greet a labradoodle walking by and then slept behind our chairs until the show was over. Talk about being laid back...you would have thought he was drugged :P

Well, we had it pretty easy - we desensitized Cooper to thunder as a baby puppy (we had thunder parties - as thunder crashed, we cheer and throw treats and toys), so he doesn't really mind the loud noises.
BUT, just to be sure, we also gave him a rare treat - an empty Deer Park bottle - it makes such a crazy loud racket when he chews it, I'd be surprised if he even HEARD the thunder. |
