Yes he does!!! Now way could I get Bogart to wear the cone and also the Tshirt? hahaha! I put a pair of my underwear on him after neutering and he ripped them off and went postal with the cone.

I'm so sorry to ask this. I hardly was online the last couple of days. Could anyone tell me what happened to Dexter?
Whatever it is...I'm glad they were able to help him through it all.

haha...I just saw this post...poor pitiful Dex in that cone. I need to look - I know they make a smaller less cumbersome cone (I think it's soft) that we can use when we're at home - next Tues-Thurs he will be alone when we're at work and will need the monster cone.

I am glad we are delaying our vacation - we wouldn't really enjoy ourselves if we knew Dex was sad and alone at the vet. He will be almost completely healed by next weekend and can even enjoy himself a bit (unfortunately we already know all about the stages of the healing process).

I will welcome any and all suggestions on a better way to train him "drop it". I thought i was making progress...but apparently not. I have tried positive training (with treats), but it's only sometimes successful - any thoughts on a negative training? For example if he does not listen to drop it something negative happens? He still thinks of it all as a big game and we need him to learn it is not fun!

I absolutely cannot believe what I just did!!
Okay....I thought we had TWO dexters in distress here..........which I thought to be quite coincidental. I didn't realize that kegdawg and leslie were the same family with Dexter until now!!! DUH!!

Sorry..........I KNEW Dex ate the bathtub stopper.........I was wondering what the other dex ate!!

that is an excellent idea. Dex (much like children) listens better to others so maybe you'll have some luck.
