Thanks Diane maybe I should copy and save that post of hers just in case she decides to trick me again? At least I'd have proof!

I'm working with another trainer,to help with Max's Anxiety.
Or more like me and training him to accept alone times. However ,it is a difficult task, which is a daily headache of putting in his kennel, while we ar ehome, and leaving him thaer as long as he makes noises, whines, ect.Well, easier said then done,Max smart as he is,the minute we leave the floor starts whinning, for hours, the minute he hears us close to the stairs ,he quiets down, you don't hear a peep. This goes on and on.He drools, pants irregular, twirls and twirls in his kennel in a panic mode.
Our trainer said he deffinatly is a nervous dog.

Our second thing with him is his destructiveness, the trainer told us to stay calm at all times(again easier said then done),find something he finds valuable as a replacement to the item that he is destroying, and do an exchange.Max values WOOD....again,easier said then done.
Max is an escape artist, and if someone opens the gate without securly latching it enough, he can open it and off he goes, well,Max being Max,
knows we will come and get him,so ,he keeps running far away enough so we cannot catch him,so again, easier said then done, what do i do,well I sit down on the ground, ignore him, pretend hes not there, with wood in hand, and just Wait till he comes to me,let me see last time took me an hour of trying to stay calm and not angry and sitting, waiting.

Ah,life with a doodle is never boring.

Lucille - are you putting Max in a crate? We found that Kirby was getting anxiety and started hating his crate! He would run and hide and my husband would have to carry him into it. Now we just have him in a dog proof room and he's so much better!! He runs down there himself in the morning when we leave...just a thought. He does have Dexter for company so I don't know if that helps too.

Yes, we do crate him,we have the leave it open with his leash on, so that he doesnt wander around at night, otherwise he whines, cries ,ect, all night long.
My trainer, says its us,which i believe it is,however Max has such a deffinate personality, that plays into this alot. She also says that even though we excersise him, thats not enough, his breed is smart and needs to be expersised with his brain.Make him think more ,challenge him mentally.
I'm to the point where I want to hire a trainer to do agaility with him,to mentally stimulate him. It's hard trying to out smart a smart dog, lol.
I'm really hoping he'll out grow alot of this, when hes over the puppy stage, and he calms down .

Oh I didn't realize he was still a puppy...I would definitely keep at it then Kirby was over 1 yr old when we got him and his was definitely anxiety from being in the crate and not from being alone Good luck...

LuBer OB training classes have more than one level which can challenge their intelligence as well as you could add new things to the training as well.

keep us posted
